I was going through my characters and deleting all the level 1’s that have now appeared on my list after the Pre-patch changes, whilst doing that I somehow deleted my main when I was not even hovering over it.
The character restore feature is currently unavailable and the character I deleted had most of my gold on it and is also my main character so I am a bit stuck currently.
I looked around and have seen this is a common issue with the new UI for warbands and other people have had the same issues and their character restored. Even a somewhat popular streamer had this issues resolved fast with blizzard support replying with this:
*"Hello Psy, *
*We’ve seen more reports of this and are currently investigating! * Feel free to submit a ticket for now and we’ll do our best to help restore incorrectly deleted characters."
I hope there is a faster way to restore my main character so I can continue to play it before TWW and actually use my gold.
I have a ticket open that didn’t give me an estimate time and have seen some people say a ticket helps and others say it doesn’t, I saw a streamer have the issue and it was fixed for them within hours which is no shocker really but my main has all my accounts gold on it so playing the game is impossible even on alts right now.
Ye I realise that, there is a bug currently tat makes you delete your main character when removing others. A streamer Psybear did t he exact same thing and blizzard fixed his issue within 5 hours so I am here hoping for some help.
As Furydin suggests your best bet is to open a ticket. A GM may be able to help. Cite your ‘somewhat popular streamer’ as someone who had their character restored.
The same has happened to me and to others as well, you select a character to delete and suddenly the list jumps to the top and you delete the main character or characters you want to play on.
I wrote a ticket, the very same character (My main) I’m using to type this reply on, got deleted yesterday, today they answered me that they can’t help me. I wasn’t giving up, so I replied again and told them what she means to me and why I needed her back. And here she is.
Some tips I’ve learned along the way.
Always be polite in your tickets.
Always write a ticket, and don’t settle for just one answer from one GM
If you want to do delete character-spree, redo your warmode for a while only using characters you want to delete or don’t use the warband at all while deleting.
