Hello! Basically, I have two different battle net accounts, both under same real name, and i want to do somewhat huge gold transfer between them (~500k gold).
Now, i understand i choose wrong time to ask such a thing but i’m not a multiboxer. My problem stems from wanting to merge two battle net accounts since i have one with all blizzard games on it and one with just wow, but account merge will strip me of all my ach, mounts, pets, tmogs so i decided to keep my wow account until better times and start anew on my “main” one.
So, what I plan on doing is - transfering my “golden” character to a new server that I now play on, then posting something on AH that costs 500k gold on my new main horde toon on this account and then buying it out on alliance side on my old one.
To the question. Am i allowed to do such cross-account and cross-faction transfer? Is there a chance that i may get banned or my gold being taken away? I still want to be sure, but surely it should not be against TOS, since gold is mine as are characters that recieve it?
I’m a little confused - are the selling character and buying character on the same wow licence? If so, it won’t work. I’m not sure if it would work on the same battle.net account or not.
If they’re on different battle.nets, it may work (I’m not 100% sure) but you always run the risk of someone else buying the item. Additionally you might get flagged up for real money trading which you should be able to defend but if you can’t, you lose your accounts permanently.
I’m not sure if a blue would answer this sort of question but I think that’s what you need. I have too many ‘mays’ and ‘shoulds’ in my head.
You are wrong, i just re-checked and transfered 10 gold between factions. Though, the way to transfer was never my concern, the transfer between two different accounts is, or rather what can happen after transfer happens.
I’m sorry if i was unclear in my post, english is not my first language. Characters are on different licences and on different battle net accounts, but both accounts are registered under my own real name.
I guess so, i was hoping for blue, but it’s probably foolish… maybe i should just contact gm then and clarify everything before attempting to do the transfer and then arguing with them when my account gets banned.
Because you are trying to send the gold between characters on one account. As i said, i’m sorry if i was unclear, but i have 2 characters on different accounts.
Edit: And gold between factions can’t be sent via mail. I use AH and buy out some low rarity item, with 5% cut gold can be transfered.
And I do understand now, OP. There may be a blue along tomorrow morning who can offer advice, but I’m not actually sure if it’s something they would be able to answer as you want to do something that’s not intended to be done. I have a feeling a ticket may get the same response … but wait until tomorrow in case someone can post a response to you.
It is okay, answer from the GM arrived today. If any rare unicorn will have similiar problem in the future, here is answer:
“Moving gold from one account to another is fine. In fact, I’ve seen pretty big amounts being paid for boosts and such, and that’s not even supported! In other words, it takes a bit more than just moving lots of gold to be flagged as suspicious.”
I neglected to specify if cross faction gold transfer is okay, but honestly a lot of “goblins” use that method and i don’t think i ever heard anyone getting banned over it.
Also, you should not be apologizing, you are not a blizzard employee, after all. Thank you for monitoring my thread though.
