So you know how when you switch specs it is supposed to automatically switch to whatever you had saved on action bars on that spec? That isn’t happening for me. I have to keep putting my spells back on my action bars every time I switch spec?
I’m not using any action bar addons. Default UI.
So say Action Bar 1 I am in Enhancement spec and I put down Stormstrike, Fire Nova, Ice Strike.
When I switch to Restoration they disappear off the bar… and I now have an empty Action Bar 1. So I put down Healing Rain, Earthen Wall Totem, Healing Tide totem in those places.
When I switch back to Enhancement… those spaces are empty again. And when I switch back to resto… now that’s empty too.
This has only started happening since last night. I was affected by that Edit Mode bug where I lost my UI last night too.

Update… this is only happening for 2 of my 3 specs. Lol. Elemental is fine. How is this even a thing that can happen? Spell placement on action bars is server side, yeah? So there’s in theory nothing I can do or clear locally that can fix this?

Update 2
Logged in this morning and my action bars I set up last night for Enhancement had reverted back to what they were 2 days ago.
And I still have the issue with having to replace everything between spec changes.
This is infuriating…
I normally switch between Resto and Enhancement multiple times a day. I can’t play like this having to put my spells back on my bars every time…
Now it happened when i entered a portal. This getting extremely annoying.
By this time i have memorized the skills on each bar.
I will prolly go to an addon and not bother with blizzards UI if nothing happens soon
I have the same issue. Being a Druid this issue is between my feral and restoration specs, they seem to share the action bars for some reason. Guardian and Balance changes normally. Really annoying since I play Resto/Feral.
I think I found a solution. What I did was I gave names to all my talent by clicking “New Loadout”. Before everything was by default. I think it reset after a patch or something. Now when I am changing everything is changing on my action bars. Hope this will help.
When you go into your talents: You can create a loadout
→ Do that
Put your desired talent in it
From the list of loadout (bottom left of the talent screen) open the pop up menu
Hover the newly created loadout
Click on the cog right to it
Now you can access the settings
…> Tick the box “Use Shared Action Bars”
…> The description is: “By default, each loadout has its own saved set of action bars. All loadouts that have this option enabled will share the same action bars”
Conclusion: I do not know how this entitled to this. My guess is that every spec on a character without this ticked will fall into a shared action bar loadout. This means that if you forget spells or move them around it will impact the other spec.
Having this ticked for one spec and not the other, allows you to have 2 sets of action bars.
I am not playig triple specs so this might still impact Pally if you play the 3 or Druids.
Thanks Blizzard for taking the time to reply to this thread and help us understand those highly intuitive options.
Edit 1: I think I have cornered the core issue. Your loadout can be named. I used the same name “Mythic +” for a loadout in Prot and in Fury. I guess the game thought is was the same and so used the same action bars loadout.
The quickest fix should be to use exclusive naming convention for your specs.
