After performing a thorough investigation, we’ve identified that the Gallywix boosting organization has been taking part in gold selling for real money. Real money trading – also known as RMT – is a serious violation of our End-User License Agreement and is not tolerated, therefore we’ve begun taking action and have banned accounts in North America and Europe that were associated with this group and taking part in the real money trading transactions.
These actions have primarily targeted the Gallywix organization so far, but our investigations are ongoing and additional accounts involved with running this organization may be banned in the future.
Going forward, accounts may receive actions if they are found to be involved in future transactions with Gallywix or are actively advertising it.
What if you’re just a regular player who boosts for ingame gold? (Its my only source of ingame income). Can i no longer do that?
Edit: i guess i cant since the entire gallywix discord imploded 1 hour after the blue post LOL. Some discord admin gave every single member in the discord admin rights and it went to absolute sh1t 2minutes after that
Seems pretty clear from the blue post… If you are in any way involved with Gallywix / RMT, the Ban Hammer of Doom has been summoned in both the EU and US… so, avoid being in any way involved in the future, since you have now had a very clear warning, action is being taken against this.
Well not really is it? It just says anyone involved with gallywix as a whole, doesnt specify. Is BillyBob who bought a freehold boost for 70k gold for his alt eligible for a ban because he used them even though he only payed with gold? Not specified.
I know that, it’s just the blue post uses very informal language.
This can be interpreted as ‘‘We are taking action against people associated with gallywix entirely AS well as the RMT offenders’’, or ‘‘We are taking action against the RMT part of the gallywix community’’
If they mean to say ONLY the people that did RMT, should’ve worded it like they are taking action against the participants of RMT only, but the ‘‘associated with this group part’’ is VERY vague and can mean anything and everything.
However it would seem very unwise for ‘Billy Bob’ to read a blue Ban Hammer warning, yet immediately think of booking an in-game gold boost through Gallywix going forward, because he likes the adrenaline rush of living on the raggedy edge of Chaos…and then complain if he gets clipped by the Ban Hammer, eh?
Does Sylvanas sell Gold?, if so yes they should be banned, but if they’re not selling gold then why should they be banned.
And for you who’s saying / thinking that all the Boosting for INGAME GOLD and not real money should get shut down.
Those communities does way more than the Warcraft Community as a Whole.
I do have disabilities which somewhat stops me from raiding seriously such as HC and Mythic.
What i am good at tho is Farming gold,
So i went to Oblivion for help to get Ahead of the Curve for the Mount for about 350K Gold
[This was like half a month or so after Mythic Ny’alotha was released]
Which im very gratefull for.
And Oblivion don’t sell Gold for Real money, all of their services are purely for Gold.
I know it may look like im advertising the Community, but im really not the reason why i wrote about Oblivion is so that you can see how much it would ruin for others such as me with Disabilities if every community were to get banned
Because let’s be real, random players in this playerbase don’t give some random a boost
Friends may boost friends sure, but thats one thing, not everyone in the WoW community have in-game friends.
So! to wrap this up!. If a community sells stuff for Real Money, Yes ban them! If a Community sells stuff for GOLD, let them be!
Yeah agreed, of course from this point forward Blizzard has issued a warning stating that associating with gallywix is a bad idea.
I just get uneasy when people use informal language for important announcements like this. Have had it happen from other companies like Valve & Ubisoft making very very vague statements that can be interpreted 5 different ways because of casual word choices.
