Not only boosting was against the TOS but it was also involving real money, they were making money out of a product legally in the possession of Blizzard.
Also, boosting is terrible for the game because it rewards and credit people with something they didn’t achieve and got on their own, it’s like paying for a College Degree.
Boosting isnt against the ToS. Boosting for real money is against the ToS. And the only thing those beeeeep get from their RMT is a lawsuit by blizzard.
Well Blizzard has always had the stance that boosting for PvP is a bit more dodgy.
Back in MoP they used to actually have a buffer between a PvP seasons end of about 2 weeks to ban or remove glad/r1 titles from people that bought boosts.
But boosting for PvE? How does that hurt anyone?
PvP is a zero sum game, but someone getting a jaina or nzoth mount literally doesnt impact anyone else whatsoever.
Have you ever invited a 3k IO individual to your group only find out the player didn’t got this score through his skill but instead through his gold? And he screws your key because he’s bad. This is how PvE boosting is bad for the game.
If it’s just for Jaina mount i don’t care, but N’zoth mount is a little more tricky because Nya’lotha is still the current raid and it’s the same deal of the M+ boosted player.
Sure, but what i mean is this, if you invite someone for your key and they are boosted and you deplete it, you wasted what? 40 minutes and got a bit mad? Another 40 minutes and you’re back on track.
And its nice you agree that PvE cosmetics like mounts are literally worthless because every time one drops, its just blizzard going ‘‘mount printer goes brrr’’
The point being, in PvE, one person getting a reward, like Nzoth mount or Jaina mount doesnt hinder someone else from getting it too.
In PvP however, at the high end, if someone gets gladiator, that is someone else NOT getting gladiator by design.
See, i can use this same logic for PvP. Lost to or got a boosted in your group, just work for the time you wasted and your back on track?
It’s the same issue going on, it’s irrelevant if you wasted 40 minutes or 2 hour, it’s bad for the game period, it undermine and harm the experience from others whether it’s M+ or PvP.
No doubt is it bad for the game, and bought ratings muddy the waters in an ever more competetive game i dont disagree with you. Only pointing out that there is a big difference in how bad it can get.
Of course at the lower ratings no one cares, every player under the sun could be 2000 rated, in one season, just as every player in the game could have keystone master.
But at the VERY elite level, every player could have Cutting Edge: Nzoth, they could, however gladiator is worth more because NOT everyone can have it, and one person has to lose it for another person to gain it.
You see, both of you seem to agree that boosting is bad for the game as whole as long as it involve ratings, scores and meta accomplishments, for cosmetics is irrelevant because it’s just mounts and even Blizzard itself sells them in the form of store items.
I think the first should be against the TOS but the second not. You may disagree with me on the stance it should be against the TOS, but that’s fine.
I believe a lot more people are selling boosts for gold because consumables and gear got ridiculously expensive throughout this expansion as materials are way harder to farm, and at the same time Blizzard nerfed hard methods of making raw gold. Add BOEs with corruptions on top of that and you have the recipe for disaster. Also, dumb gold sinks like the longboy don’t help either.
If Blizzard want a long-term solution for the whole boosting problem, they should implement more ways of making raw gold, make materials for consumables easier to farm and more abundant, put less gold sinks and expensive vendor items in the game that exist just to make people waste their time farming gold, and lastly, remove repair bills, just a pointless gold sink.
It’s not like you guys didn’t know about this, there’s so much proof on their discord (no, not gallywix’s) about you guys giving literal zero f’s about it, greedy bois…
While you’re at it, you might take a look at Scrype, unbelivable, he literally admits to RMT with gallywix buying gold from them with RL currency, jesus christ Blizzard. Y’all taking hot fire and making yourself lookin’ more and more dumb each day.
Those little grubby cash $$$ money hands can’t stop grabbing the chance to gain some money, can’t they looking at you activision
Ban all the boosters. Boosting makes it so EVERYTHING in the game comes down to how much IRL money you have.
Just make the game purely pay2win if you don’t ban them all. Boosters and boosting services are pure scum and everyones achievements and work is worthless because of them.
Fantastic job so far. Keep going don’t let any remain.
