The madness and despair contained within the dread Necronomicon can’t hold a candle to this statement.
The only shadow around here is you getting Banished to the Shadow Realm, Jimbo.

Anything that won’t feel like im pulling my nails out of boredom
I wouldn’t mind a WoW classic that’d go an entirelly different path storywise, might get me to instal it at that point even… maybe.
I heard rumours about that. Not long to find out!
I do not think that the point of Classic+ is to have an alternate dimension to what we have today, but something that fits the lore at the time.
I.e Scarlet dungeons/raids in New Avalon/Tyr’s Hand/Hearthglen, Grim Batol dungeon/raid, Bloodsail dungeons, and so on and so forth. Idea is to expand the world in order to keep the progression past Naxx, both gear- and, perhaps, lore-wise.
Not sure we´ll get anything RP’ers will find satisfactory. I forsee another expansion in the usual formula, with nothing whatsoever added to the old world, and little of interest in terms of evergreen systems that can be carried forward.
I’m pretty sure the City of Heroes developers went on to make Champions Online, Star Trek Online and Neverwinter. The second and the third both used the Foundry system, which was probably based on the Architect system.
… But then the senior developer who was responsible for the creation and maintenance of the Foundry system left the company and no one was able to unravel their spaghetti code, so the company deleted that entire feature from both games. Imagine if something like that happened to WoW.
I mean, doesn’t WoW have a rock in the Barrens that basicly destroys the game when it gets deleted and nobody knows why, because the guy that implented it is someone nobody remebers and is long gone?
Not entirely the same, but I suppose some some people implent stuff, and then when other people inherite that code, its just spaghetti to them because they didn’t help create it?
Spaghetti code should for a massive company like Activision Blizzard King increase a project’s projected dev time in order to untangle and future proof it, not be used as some sort of ancient druidic curse as to why certain features can’t be done at all.
Also, I just hope they will comment, or even promise, to add in the other heritage armor recolours! Looks at the Nightborne heritage Armor recolours that never got implented!
And ofcourse, since Man’ari “(re-)joined” the Draenei, perhaps Fel-Blood Elves and Felborne Elves? Especially since Nightborne, apparently, cannot become Darkfallen, and we just need another off-shoot of a Elf-race!
Also red-skin for the main Orcs! Thrallmar Fel(/red) Orcs have been a thing since TBC!
I’d rather have fel orcs.
I felt your needs, brother, hence my edit!
I think the fact that this vast world is in a such state of stagnation is really what’s getting to the lore enjoyers.
PvE-wise there’s plenty that could be evergreen if Blizzard rather than giving up decided to further refine them, I’ll get to the reason as to why none of them got there though in a bit. Garrison could have been a reasonable player housing even if it had to be worked on for multiple expansions. Torghast could easily be re-purposed elsewhere and even be a form of solo M+ that gives out gear since the dungeons themselves on a group level seem to fall off quickly after new expansion/patch. Order Halls could be revived every now and then when these organizations should be involved Lorewise… Why is there no sign of life from the Earthen Ring in a Primalist terror attack?
I remember us talking about how defensive and extreme Blizzard’s system designs tend to swing all while missing halfway or entirely the reason why we even were gritting our teeth… And that’s the issue, these guys always have to be fixing the problems of the previous expansions or even the one before that. They can’t work on giving something new and evergreen when they have to still pay interests for the mess they introduced before. Right now they mostly got a handle on the PvE side and got one thing new people are keen on seeing continue in the future but that’s so little, that’s like what people want to expect on release “Oh wow, nothing’s broken and requires heavy tinkering around.”
As to what I expect in Blizzcon… Tbf I can’t think of anything that hasn’t been said for a wishlist or a pet peeve such as “another mysterious fogged land”. I want them to amaze me but I’m aware that my good will has run dry. Time will tell.
I am wondering how you guys and galls would like them to introduce a new landmass, otherwise?
I mean, I get it. I really do. First Kalimdor was heavily fogged(/turned) off; then Pandaria, then Broken Isles, then Dragon Isles…
Zandalar and Kul Tiras were just closed off.
But aside from that; how would you introduce new (is)lands?
Personally I would go with a heavily fortified Island; where whenever a (flying)ship/creature would get near; it would get instantly destroyed by its coastel defense, but then you’d have to make a random macguffin to allow people into those lands anyways(while we hate random macguffins to get into somewhere).
So aside from them taking the Island Expedition Islands’ into the main world, or a old world rework, there is really not much Blizzard can choose between, is there?
Just have them be unmarked or untravelled? Why does magic mysterious mist/lock need to cover 20 (I counted) WoW zones? It’s ridiculous.
Moreover, I actually don’t want more continents, a few islands perhaps would be fine but no more humongous continents, we have Eastern Kingdoms, Pandaria, Northrend etc. all of which they could upscale and increase the size of by about 400-500% to add new quests, areas, raids, dungeons etc. they should focus primarily on updating and maintaining what they have.
