Hi, Recently brought an LG Ultra gear 144hz monitior which has ‘adaptive sync’ Does this have any impact on the game? Dont really understand what it does, Should you run this with Vsync option in game ? or disable aswell as vsync ? ( tested with both settings on and does seem to be smooth performance ) Do get an odd stutter during combat recently which I cant seem to work out what is causing it, I have a 4080 Super & Ryzen 7 7800X3D ?!
The optimal way to use g-sync is to make sure it is enabled in the nvidia panel under your display and also directly in your monitor settings (adaptive sync usually).
Then also force vsync on in the NV panel under 3d settings.
Ingame enable Nvidia Reflex (no boost).
Oh and you have to run WoW in DX12 or it won’t work.
If everything works as it should, the game should cap to 138 fps (via Reflex on).
In Nvidia control panel
Vsync Force On.
G-sync Windowed and Full Screen enabled.
Set Nvidia Frame Limiter to 141. (This is a whole topic on it’s own but 141 is fine.)
On monitor
Use Displayport cables rather than HDMI to connect to the screen. (Some devices wont support G-sync over HDMI. LG probably does since their TV’s do.)
Enable G-sync/Adaptive sync on monitor settings if need be.
In games
Disable Vsync.
Disable any in game frame limiters/cap.
G-sync should work in DX11 and 12 unless the game is programmed not to. Can only imagine windowed DX11 is problematic in some scenarios.
You can read this if you want to go down the rabbit hole. https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/

Thanks for getting back to me!, Would you say that running Gsync is the way forward? I dont understand how my pc can struggle to run this, Also starting to think maybe 4k wasnt the best choice in monitor for wow as since I got this is tanked the fps and having trouble, My old monitor didnt have gsync so couldnt tell the difference really !
I don’t think the stuttering in combat has anything to do with your Monitor, if so you would have issues all the time not only in combat.
That sounds like an addon or Weakaura issue to me.
Yes absolutely, it’s been the way for quite some years now.
G-sync is just Nvidias naming for adaptive sync, or VRR on your TV (variable refreshrate).
It basically adjusts the refreshrate of your display in realtime to match the FPS, so you won’t get tearing or similiar negative effects when your FPS do not match the refreshrate of your display.
Just know that Reflex (reduces inputlag) can bug out sometimes in WoW when you tab out or in my case do something on a 2nd display.
Then it won’t cap your FPS to 138 (for a 144Hz display).
So make sure you limit the FPS ingame to 141 (G-sync value).
Here’s a guide that will help you understand those numbers:
