Add a 20-30minute timer for WSG BG

They really should think about to implement a time restriction in WSG similar to the one we had in Cataclysm or if it was Mists, can’t really remember it’s been like 8-10years almost. When you are playing a game of WSG the oposite team cap one flag and 1-2 people go AFK some people tryhard and when the score is 2-0 to the opposite team some people still try, half group is afk and no one cares to go for efc and waste the time with the flag and drag out the games for like 1hr just to get 200honor and 1mark from it. The team with most flag caps when the timer ends wins the battleground, if the score is even the game ends in a draw with 1-2marks.

This however might change the view on how people farm reputation inside WSG but they can always boost the reputation 2x the current amount per flag cap or just add +75 rep for winning.

NO. When they added the timer to WSG back in teh day I HATED IT. The two hour long games were/are epic. The timer was one of my least fave changes ever. Keep it how it is.

Different times back then, I also enjoyed the longer games back in 2006-2010 but today it feels frustrating and way different then it did back in the days. Today when you end up in an WSG without a small premade with ur friends to carry the game everyone gives up when they loose mid fight or opposite faction caps a flag when u queue up random and there is always this one guy who will never give up when its close to impossible to win vs that team and they run away hide or turtle whole team at base with flag so they cant win the game.

I feel no reason to have infinite games today when half of ur team gives up at the start of the game.

Two hour Just for to do a BG? And at this rate when you are able to get the Gear?

I believe the timer gets added in WOTLK

Personally I am against the timer for TBC. While yes, some games can last theoretically even for days in WSG, currently I havent had a match that was longer than 1 hour.

I like these sort of long games because they are memorable. They are quite rare.

While the timer is a good thing, I completely agree, its not true to the TBC classic experience.

Id go against adding the timer. It just creates this very fast paced environment for the bg, which in my opinion shouldnt be so for those who dont want it. If youre having troubles finishing games id suggest to take action and tell everyone to attack 10 man, id imagine that would work almost every time. Personally I cant remember any turtle game which wouldve lasted way too long, but I guess thats just my experience.

Exactly but for 95% of the playerbase it’s about honor nowdays. That is why people go afk to get there free mark this is currently a problem with TBC classic that will continue as long as cross faction bgs is a thing.

Warsong Gulch

  • When both flags are held, the flag carriers will receive 50% increased damage done to them after approximately 10 minutes and 100% increased damage after approximately 15 minutes.
  • Flag carriers can now be tracked 45 seconds after picking up the flag.

Patch 2.4 - dunno why this is not in game

Just leave the game and play retail for 15 minutes while you have deserter.

Deserter doesn’t go down, whilst you’re offline. No?

It doesnt? Well, only makes the joke better now, doesnt it?

Not to mention when one team do not cap the flag, just farm kills in a WSG. So yes, put a timer on it.

Rather be more strict when it comes to banning afk ppl.

putting a timer on WSG will incentivize flag camping.
score 1 point, then take the flag and hold it while everyone defends FC until the timer is up.

no thanks.

Back in those days players had another priorities. More focus on the game and less focus on gear. BG was actually something you wanted to win, not just get tokens asap.
Crossrealm was not here and people got to know the players on the server, even the enemies. Now we could just aswell fight bots because the enemy are just strangers.
Now people cant enjoy the game if they do not have good gear. And people make sure to tell you that when you enter a BG

I don’t understand this logic: “make this change like retail, because it was different times back then.” Blizzard catering to all these requests is what retail is, and if they added half of the changes I’ve seen suggested for classic, we’d just have retail WoW again except it’s in Outland. If you don’t like the long WSG battles…don’t queue for WSG.

It’s because retailers are bored of retail and want to get bored of classic too ^^

Cross realm existed in TBC as I played on Skullcrusher and I always faced people from Stormscale in both Arena and BGs. Battlegrps existed since Late Vanilla wich were 3-4 server connected to eachother you played vs. But true I do know exactly what you mean you played against the same people most of the time as there were many guilds organising premades in all BGs exept AV.
