Add a consumable that temporarily allows flying in Draenor & Legion w/o pathfinder

Ive had WoD-Legion-BFA flying in their time but i can confirm that its a pretty harsh thing for new players. Ive had a buddy invited in WoW to play along and i can tell you its not a good thing for new players to not be able to fly in very old content…

I 100% agree that at least NEW accounts will get free flying in WoD-Legion because its too much…

No. Absolutely no. New and returning players can do the grind just like the rest of us.

New and returning players don’t need flying in wod and legion to level. Levelling is fine. I stopped playing in cata, came back for a month or so in legion, but didn’t like it. I’m back levelling this warlock, got to level 98 in mop and now I’m doing Draenor. I’m doing a couple of quests, gathering, treasure hunting and pet taming and everything is so close together, I hardly use my ground mount.

Once I’m levelled, then I’d like flying. Unlocking it will probably be more than I want to do. If I had flying, I would probably go back and look around Draenor and legion, but as I haven’t, I doubt I’ll see much more than one or two zones in each to actually level. If I’d spent less time in mop, maybe I’d have to cover a bit more.

Levelling players don’t need flying to level. People at level 120 would like it and I’ll probably stop playing again then.

I think that if you do current pathfinder, it should unlock flying in all previous zones too. I would make the effort if I could fly in wod and legion too once I’d unlocked bfa and imo that would actually be more valuable to new and returning players and those playing catch-up than some 15 minute potion.

(I got from 98 to 101 yesterday)

or just let us buy it for gold now its old content? I have both but have a NA account which doesnt have the pathfinders.

Boosts are 110?
The only reasons any of my characters have done legion content was for allied races.

If it allows me to earn obscene amounts of gold off people who can’t be bothered to unlock flying, then i don’t mind

I find it funny you have to become good friends with races that have probably never stepped foot in Zandalar or Kul Tiras in order to fly there. How does that even make sense.

probably so they don’t shoot you down while going into their airspace i guess

Grind old content*

You probably did this when it gave you so much more than just flying. It’s a huge difference getting flying in draenor while it was live and getting it now. Getting it back then was barely a grind since you just played the endgame content. Learn to differ the two.

If WoD gave me stuff to help me progress with gear now i probably wouldn’t complain about “grinding” for pathfinder in WoD. Nor Legion. But it doesn’t, and it’s so Blizzard to make old content… old…

This is my feeling too.

It’s also why I have no alts at 120. Don’t really want to go through Legion without flying.

So I play less than I could, completely contrary to Blizzard’s expectation that I will play more (presumably by bothering to grind flying in still-timegated legacy content).

I’d love to know if they have any kind of metrics on the number of alts bailed out on and at what level they got stuck. I suspect there’s an awful lot of 90s and 100s that started the new zone and just couldn’t be bothered anymore.

But why?

I stopped playing at the end of MoP and resubbed a few months ago. I hardly see any reason to ever go to Draenor again. And those few hours per char you spend in there to level… well… who cares about flying then?

You have an interest to go to Draenor and want flying, but your interest is not large enough to grind the Pathfinder. What kind of interest is that if I may ask? I’m genuinely curious.

Faster leveling, faster getting to old instances to get transmogs. Just quality of life, exploring the region without being dazed 24/7 or being stopped by obstacles. Trust me, people would have a higher interest in old zones if they had the quality of flying. I see far more people in Northrend and Outlands than in Draenor. In Broken Isles people still appear but only those with flying. I bet if blizzard collected information on visits they would notice this.

But i’m gonna be honest and just say, this is a part of their plan to make people buy Character boosts. We skip 2 annoying regions where flying would make it alot more fast and more fun cause it wouldn’t feel like a hassle.

Pathfinder in new expacs is fine, though why keep pathfinder in an old expac still I realy have no clue about, there realy aint any reason for it at all, and feels little bit silly…

You are probably right that, in absolute terms, it is a few hours.

It is however a miserable few hours and psychologically, it can be a total blocker, above and beyond the “real” impact that lack of flying has. You go from the nice smooth flow through TBC/Wrath/Cata/MoP content to suddenly hitting a roadblock with NOPE signs stretched across it.

People don’t make logical decisions. We make them based on how stuff feels, and it feels bad to have the freedom of the skies for 30 levels and then have it taken away again for reasons we don’t understand.

I hate the entire pathfinder system and I remember how bad it was to get WOD pathfinder.

I think since WOD is 2 expansions old they should just have the following for pathfinder in WOD: explore the zones and revered with the factions. Forget the rest of it.

I know that they removed some requirements for Legion pathfinder right before 8.0, because you had to do part of a raid and dungeon and people were having a hard time finding people to queue with in Legion.

They should just get rid of the whole Pathfinder thing. No one likes it at all and it is a major thing to achieve in everyone’s mind in every expansion. It feels like Pathfinder is a major content in each expansion, which is wrong. They should focus more on the actual content rather than giving us a reason for daily grinds.

In my opinion, they should just unlock flying like 6 months before next expansion, or unlock it when the next expansion is released

Wow.

I completed Legion pathfinder too, and think it should be removed. I don’t even remember the achievement. I just know it should never have been there in the first place, and I’d be happy if those who don’t already have it, got flying now without pathfinder.

It should be unlocked by loremadter/map exploration at best during the current expansion. Or pathfinder should be removed entirely.

I really can’t fathom this hate against flying. It does nothing but improve the game in my case.

Rep is the first requirement that should be removed from pathfinder. It makes absolute zero sense. You don’t “see the world” by repeating quests. Seeing the world was one of Blizzard’s own explainations for pathfinder.

I promise you that after “plugging the geysirs” for the 4th or 5th time yesterday I rolled my eyes quite hard. The storyline however, I follow eagerly.

It’s still playing the game. Quit complaining and play the game if you want to get draenor flying.
