Add an option to Guild Settings to Disallow Cross Faction Members!

So, many of my guild’s members have requested that I do not allow Horde to join the guild.

It is widely felt that the main theme of the game has always been Alliance Vs Horde.

Just because a small number of players leaned on the Developers enough to get them to trash the core theme of the game and allow Cross Faction Guilds, doesn’t mean we should have this change forced upon our guilds.

“Can you invite my character to the guild please”
“No, it is Horde!”
“But I thought guilds were cross faction now?”
“This one isn’t!”

As guild leaders, we should not be forced to monitor every member and regularly scan through the roster to remove Cross Faction Characters.

There should simply be an option in the guild settings to not allow Cross Faction Membership.

There is an option in WoW Community group settings to not allow Cross Faction.

Source.

You’re not forced to do anything.

Just don’t invite Horde characters.

You’re not.

Just make yourself the only one who can invite, or just you and officers - and add the rule that no Horde characters are allowed.

I have to admit I was surprised when it wasn’t a setting like we have with communities but then again they’ve only done a half measure cross faction guild situation. To be invite to a guild as the opposite faction you must be either a friend of the person inviting or be on a community together. It seems an unnecessary step.

Jesus Christ, you’re too lazy to do this yourself? “Forced to monitor”?

Also, its not a “small” number. I think most people moved on from the “horde versus alliance” made up conflict about a decade ago. I think most people sticking to that now are rp’rs or just stubborn people trying to make a point. Go you.

Also, its clearly very dear and close to your founding principles because its never mentioned here:

You are trolling right…

Not exactly being lazy when the guild has over 900 characters from over 600 accounts and it has always been the guild’s policy that people can invite their friends.

You have no right to take information from the guild’s discord/website and publish it here.

The idea that this work should all be on the guild leader, because blizzard were too lazy to add a setting to the guild control is a bit strange. Obfuscate Blizzard’s lazy programming by pointing a finger at the person asking for something which you do not agree with. Nice!

It would be nothing for them to copy some code from the community interface into the guild control.

It’s publicly available so I have every right as long as it doesn’t break the forum rules - which it doesn’t.

What it does show is that it doesn’t fit with your narrative so you’re objecting.

Also, you have less than 300 accounts in guild and you’ve had about 8 people movements in the last month. The admin burden must be overwhelming.

…that i haven’t updated the info since it didn’t need to be said that the guild is for alliance only.

/ginfo returns
Guild Created 12-2-2009, 969 players, 583 accounts

so it has gone down a bit since i last noted it as over 600. But still, this is a lot of characters to manage.
