I think it would be cool to be able to choose what login screen you want.

I’d prefer to stick with the login screen we have now so a toggle would be great. Not a fan of the warband thing.

He’s talking about a different screen to the warband. He’s talking about the login portal itself.
The new one looks… bad, to put it bluntly. So I’d like it too.

I got confused with the warband thread 
New inlog looks fine, not like we spend much time looking at it anyway.
Maybe have an alternative version of the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera Mk II where you pick a location literally yourself, projecting 4 character spots and props [using the placement system we’ve seen plenty of times, red = not okay, green = okay].
Plenty of players like such stuff, especially RP’ers. Nothing wrong adding some atmosphere.
Lost Ark did it nicely.
I’m one of the few people that likes the login screen but its mostly a redundant screen and has been for ages.
Currently, I’m logging in way too quickly for Alexstrasza to land in the background let alone her jumping back off of it and coming towards the screen.
Trickier than it sounds.
In order to launch quickly, World of Warcraft does not start up its entire rendering engine beforehand. The main menu is significantly stripped down. If you were to allow the user to place it anywhere in any terrain, it would have to be able to render anywhere in any terrain, increasing the complexity considerably because at that point you need to load the game world!
That’s not to say they couldn’t do it - it would just make WoW launch much slower.
Even better, allow for screen captures (usually done with alt+Z and then PrintScreen) to be used as backgrounds. The way they could do this is to add a “Warband Capture Mode” to the S.E.L.F.I.E. camera.
When a player opens the camera UI, then would click this new button that it activates the alt+Z mode for a few seconds and photographs the landscape behind the player seen within the SELFIE mode.
The colorization modes should work too, and it would be amazing to see landscape in “Sketch Mode” with the favourite characters in the foreground in full colour.
Maybe create a Warband Login Screen Capture folder, accessible via Options in game, and limit the number of active screen captures to twenty images of the player’s choice, and this might be a fun addition for players who’d want it… Something to develop for the first or second patch in TWW…???
I think if you dont add any heroes to favorites it will be just like it normally is?
But either way, yes for sure, recent years have been introducing more options for WoW, would be a shame if this was not one.

Not the character selection screen.
Personally I don’t care what the login screen looks like; I see it for like 2 seconds.

Yeah nah I dont think this will be changed. Hopefully the login screen “progresses” as the story progresses though
It’s a nice idea that I’ve also suggested to be added from time to time since Cataclysm.
The only response from Blizzard I’ve recieved is that the loginscreen should be relevant to the current expansion, though Blizzard have changed their minds several times and are sometimes flexible so don’t lose hope!
Why? For the literal 5 seconds you see it? I mean I also prefer the TBC one but even in TBC Classic you log in so fast it really doesn’t matter much.

You mean the loading screens? Yeah not the same as the login screen.
So again: every time you log into the game, sure but that takes 5 secs.

Sure lets say 25 sec each day. Still don’t see the need for that but hey, people want what they want.

They should at least give us one login screen for every continent we have. Even better would be one for each zone, but that’s probably asking too much.
