Add-ons ban for 3-6 month?Raider IO is a plague!

Blizzard should ban add-ons for 3-6 month because of this Raider IO because this game is for everyone and not only for them who are hardcore raiders and those who have millions of gold.
So then I would like to see how the hardcore people manage without add-ons.

I know there are lot of people who wants to get high ilvl and raid and do M+ and the solution is not “Make an own group”.
But they never get a chance to do it because this bull add-on Raider IO.

I was raiding before and did M+ but now with that Raider IO you never get a chance to join.
Even guilds wants you to use and have Raider IO.

This add-on destroys this game.

IO is the best add-on there is for anyone who wants to push keys. Endoff

This exactly, I don’t see why I should have to gamble my chances of playing with a complete ape who might come in agi gear to heal. Over the odds of a experienced player with understanding of his class, mechanics and routes.

Why do people believe that without Raider IO they would somehow always get invited?

There would be fewer, not more, random groups, and people would be more picky, not less. Class imbalances would be pronounced, and raid achievements would come into play. People would inspect your armory page to see your M+ history. Raider IO gets its information from Blizzard’s API, and Blizzard won’t hide your accomplishments, or lack there of.

Laziness. Entitlement. I dunno.

I pugged my RIO to 1k, 1.5k and 2k is seasons 1, 2 and 3. People who say they can’t do it are a bunch of whining babies.

Lol good luck with this post. I can’t stand the concept of io but it’s become such a necessity it’s impossible to do without now.

Can’t beat em, join em.

  1. Create a group for Freehold M0. Call it “mount run”. Complete the dungeon and receive a +2 key.
  2. Create a group for this +2 key. Call the group “3chest alt run”. Complete the dungeon for a +3-+5 key depending on the success
  3. Proceed by creating a group for the key you received. Continue until you have completed a dungeon on the key level of your liking

Protip1: you are a Death Knight. While you can easily DPS, you can speed this all up by tanking. People will rather sign up to keys where a healer and/or a tank is already signed up

Protip2: on this journey, you will meet a lot of new people. Add the ones you enjoy playing with on battle.net - once you have enough people to regularly play with on your battle.net list, you won’t need to list your keys in the group finder anymore

Protip3: try not to use raider.io when inviting people and start making the difference you’re hoping for.

Awesome advice, very well said! If this were reddit I’d be giving you a plat.

The addon is very much a double edged sword, some swear by it and have great success with pushing keys etc whilst others get the opposite experience or are denied for simply not having an over the top RIO score for a +3 key (for example).

Either way there will always be complaints about the addon, personally I’m not a fan (mostly because of how it changes player attitudes) but I can see both sides of the debate.

Also looking at their patreon page the makers are making ‭$18,255‬ (minimum, judging by their patreon) before any costs are involved, assume some of those contributing are on the higher level and you could easily see them taking in over $20k before costs. Not bad for the most debated addon currently for Retail WoW.

I’ve not done keys since legion but in legion I decided that any key I did would be my friends or my own.
I did not want to fail some strangers key.
I can understand why they are protective.

THIS. SO very much THIS. It’s easy to make raider io a scapegoat for all their troubles. Yet the anti-raider io camp fails to understand that if raider io leaves/gets banned/broken what ever. Another addon will take its place.

If not an addon, then link achievement X, come bank for inspect, warcraftlogs and so forth. How can someone be so naive to think that if they have r io score 300 and gets declined for +10s for obvious reasons then without the addon, people will suddenly be lining up and begging to get you in their runs?

Make your own group. Then you won’t be denied because of it and you choose who you want. Easy fix

What I will never get is that people complain but it never discriminates.
Its just how many you have won basically.

Its a score of “I did good”.
If your score is too low its just that you have not done good yet.

Be a tank. Plenty of groups who will sweep your shoes if you join regardless of any score.

People with a good score: This addon is great!

People with a bad score: Ban this addon, it’s gamebreaking.

You come back every new patch and feel you’re entitled to invites to groups.

The problem here is your massive sense of entitlement, not the addon.

Forums here have generally 3 kind of people :
Those alts of best players, that find game easy “on their other alt” and those, who find “game is ruined by add-on”.

And 3rd kind of posters are those, who nibble popcorn and smirk every time above 2 categories post.

You have no current gear to do any noticeable M+, and even if you had gear but not done M+ for a long time then your knowledge and skill may be rusty - and there will be less incentive to invite you to higher keys.

Do low keys of every dungeon then run higher and higher. Gradually you RIO will be increasing and gradually you will be invited and running higher and higher keys. Free weekly run is not guaranteed to anyone.

Either that or ilvl or other ranking for which you would also not qualify for free (or get runs that do not finish).

Rio is the same as money. You hate it, but need to use it.

And yes it’s kinda a double edged sword. High rated people dyingin the easiest avoidable mechanics, soo hilarious.
