As someone who roleplays fairly regularly, and has done so consistently for about two years now (after I returned to the game), there is always one issue that seems to pop up time and again. It can sometimes be hard to tell if the people you are roleplaying with are typing or not. Which can make things inconvenient when playing out a scene, or when holding a conversation, and at its worst both parties are waiting for extended periods of time only to end up with “Are you typing?”, “No, I thought you were”.
Something as simple as having a chat bubble icon above someone’s head when they are writing in /say, would help immensely. Maybe a cogwheel or something for /emote and an exclamation mark or something for /yell would be useful too. It would really help clarify what someone is about to do, and would take out much of the inconvenience that RP can have.
It would be a great boon to roleplayers for something like this to get added. Roleplaying itself could be considered like a form of endgame content in a way, and can take up a lot of someone’s playtime, so quality of life additions like this could improve someone’s experience with the game greatly.
