Add voice chat in open world

You don’t have to have it on, It’s optional. Just like clicking “join voice” in a community or guild.

I don’t want that here

Sometimes women get same issues in bars and nightclubs and some other places. Doesn’t mean women should avoid interaction everywhere. If they really have anxiety issues about such things happen they can happily never turn it on in the options? That’s like saying minority people shouldn’t ever leave the house because of descrimination.

I’m sure an adult women is very capable of making the decision to turn on voice chat by herself.

And Im sure we should have the ability to play the game without needing to fulfill certain requirements and I’m pretty sure adding something like this would cause more segregation from horny teenagers.

Why do you need to fulfill certain requirements exactly?

Sounds more like a, I wouldn’t use it so I don’t want it issue.

People may “Require” you to put the ingame voice option on in order to enter content and it could be used as a gating for some players.

It’s more for open world. Wow already has voice chat built in for raid groups etc, As the above poster said. Most high end level content groups require you to be on Discord anyway. So that’s not even adding any new issue.

This feature only works if you’re right next to the person, Like if it was real life talking to someone beside you.

Party chat already has voice in wow and you probably haven’t noticed it.

Then why dont you group up with that person and use the ingame chat feature thats already available?

I’m pretty sure not everyone wants to hear 100+ voices screeching music playing and kids screaming when a new expansion launches.

I understand why you think it’s a good idea, but trust me not everyone will think it’s a good idea at all.

And I refuse to use it because I’ve dealt with stalkers in the past… never again.

You don’t need to go into the options and turn it on? What don’t you get about it? It’s not about grouping up. that’s the point.

Don’t turn it on then? it’s your choice.

Then just like ingame current voice chat it would be a redundent feature and a waste of dev time to implement.

You really think Blizzard Devs would take away development time making that? Also just because you don’t want a feature doesn’t make it a waste of time if others want it.

In this thread I understand its a very small fraction of the WoW community but maybe 3 replies so far have been kind of for this feature but with heavy restriction ie push to talk.

which would instantly make it mostly redundant as who bothers walking around in areas and pressing push to talk in other games just to communicate to a stranger…

And don’t get me started on that remember minors also play this game and predators are very well hidden in society the last thing we want to do is give them tools to make it easier to identify kids.

Stop discriminating against mouth breathers!

Hell yeah. I could finally yell at those little pesky rats that steal the quest objectives that I killed the mobs for. Especially in assault zones.

But no that feature shouldn’t be optional. I would want them to have to listen to my hour long rant, about the flaws of their upbringing and lack of basic manners, while i follow them around.

No, thanks. Different WoW races have their own accents that could be hard to replicate for the roleplayers, not everyone has studio-quality microphones for the sound to actually be good enough to keep this immersive, and playing a character of opposite gender to yours would become impossible without a voice-changer.

Proximity vc would be cool.

It sounds positively dreadful and would add to the lag.

This would be great and add so much more immersion.
I don’t think it should automatically be opted out from, I’d rather it was made a large part of the experience. So as you log in you get asked directly to opt in or out etc.
Has potential, seen it done in many games and often it is a positive(only changed by who is on speaking side)

That would actually be a very quick and effective way to get rid of alot of racists considering i suppose such voice chats are recorded, even if temporarily.

As for the idea: As long as people dont “demand” for me to activate it when running past/around/whatever me im fine with it.

I like voice comms with friends.

Voice comms with randoms in proximity to me is something I’d never ever use. I even find the thought a little offputting.
