I’ve just seen videos of New world. It has a feature where you can use your mic to talk to people that are nearby, It’s purely optional, if people aren’t into that type of thing they can turn it off. I think it would be really fun in wow. Especially when leveling. Please add it!
It seems like a nice feature, but it should be turned off by default.
Or at the very least push-to-talk by default. There are always some people with open mics.
Yay!
Let’s all listen to 12 year old racists!
I remmeber this from CS, good ol days where i hated that realy much, not thanks… Not everything other MMO has is good for wow.
No sorry, I don’t want to hear people heavily breathing down their microphones its annoying as hell…
Acting like 12 year olds are even that common in wow lol.
It’s mostly racist boomers*
I played GTA V, I still remember the Kid screaming for 1 hour straight for no reason other than to annoy people. His mom came in and yelled at him bahaha
You can turn it off, Hence I said optional.
If I remember right, another game called Second Life has that feature.
This would make roleplay so much more interesting, to be honest.
Cant wait all the KEKW and suka blyats!
but why have it turned on by default?
you would need fat, extra huge warnings that your voice chat is turned on at your character screen. i certainly wouldnt want to join any game with the default being switched on.
if people choose to participate in vc, they can switch it on. noone should be forced into a situation where they have their mic on.
Random idiot: N word
right click mute, Report.
No longer need to hear from 12 year old racist.
Oh please no, there is a discord to talk to friends or guildies.
The point is you can talk to strangers when playing, If you want to. You could have it turned off or on, Also not everyone installs Discord for reasons I won’t get into as the thread isn’t about Discord.
That’s bad idea.
Why? You can turn it off if you don’t want to? What’s going to happen to you exactly? Every now and then someone says something offensive or something you don’t like? Then you just mute them? If you’re scared of that happening you never turn it on? It’s optional. Just like joining a voice server on Discord is.
If I type something offensive to you isn’t it the same as when I use my voice?
Me? Nah. But the general toxicity will manifest itself and these forums will be flooded with audio recording of how x got offended by y and we all drown here in a an endless ocean of misery and self pity
Option to talk to strangers is bad for the game, make friends than go on disc
One issue I have though is I wouldn’t want to talk to random 13 year olds that’s allowed to play the game, I would be creeped out about that thought of what they could lead to from creeps. Blizzard could auto block it for certain accounts depending on age.
I can see a sea of woman gamers being offended by lonely male gamers. I don’t want that, there is a beautiful silence now. Let me keep it, ty.
