I mean, I know that the there’s a damage increase the higher up you go in difficulty. I can easily tell what will become a problem in m+ just from this when reading the dungeon journals.
You can also easily tell that on trash mobs by seeing what kind of damage they do in lower difficulties.
If something requires more healing than average than that’s something you should take into account when you go high in M+.
It’s not like rocket science, if something does out of the norm damage than that’s something you shouldn’t do in higher keys or that u should play around.
You play til you struggle and if you still want to progress, YouTube dungeon guides way better, you will see what the dungeon journal is saying in a visual context.
I’m sure you have read that my rio rating last season (as of last week, actually) was 1650. While its not great enough, it’s at-least an indication that I dont fail “basic mechanics”. Yes, I dodge when beams come towards me, yes I interrupt trash healing and damage absorption and yes I am pretty familiar with boss mechanics.
I didn’t give up, the insults actually pushed me to do better. But that was not my point AT ALL!!!
If you read what I wrote in the third paragraph clearly, you will understand that my frustration was less of clearing mechanics but more of the way it was done.
Let me rephrase, I will rather improve and be a better player if I’m playing with a group that enjoys every minute of it rather than poking fun on me cause I failed. I like to improve but with positive encouragement but not by raging all the time!!!
have done to many normal dungeons last couple of days… and most of them have the mechanics within them luckily not all of us are to bad to kick a spell thats being cast or stun the mob or u know use basic strats to do the mechanics right
It really isn’t. I watched a 2400 rated previous season player run into and die from a cleave in a “for completion” +15 necrotic wake I was in, it didn’t complete because the tank left after 3 wipes on amarth, the adds didn’t die quick enough, people didn’t CC either when realizing they’re not going to die and we were blown to pieces.
Stop doing pugs then u acnt expect everyone to have the same mindset of u when u dont know them. join a guild and/or make some friends that has a like minded mentality to it but dont get mad at ppl for not wanting to deal with ppl messing up mechanics that can potentially fail the key
It doesn’t indicate anything, really, unless you’re in like top 200ish for score for your class. I was at almost 2100 last season and I watched some real clownfiesta stuff going on from people that were at 2300-2400 scores.
“HURDIHURR, WE DO THIS IN +20 WITH MY PREMADE”
Ok, that’s your premade. This is a +15 pug. Don’t even attempt to do your premade stuff in a pug, it’s most likely going to fail.
Rio provides pretty much nothing aside from a basic information of what you generally do.
And Rio can also be overgeared, like, doing a 15 day 1 is different than a 15 last week. You group up 4 higher scored and geared people and then you let them do 90% of the work and you basically follow them, still you get 2k scores.
It’s generally people that have been playing in premades, with people that are on voice. Like, I get it, they do well in a premade environment but you can’t play like your premade group does, in a total pug environment. It just doesn’t work. Like, I’m all up for some of the pulls I’ve seen some of them do or suggest but most people around a +15, which is where I stop because that’s where the gear rewards stop, are not up to those kind of pulls some of them want to do and it will just wipe the group and likely cause people to leave.
You are right and i can totally understand the way of looking it at like this.
I can’t tell how many people we had, when we filled with a random DPS for our weekly,
That:
A.) Do very low dps even though with high ilvl
B.) Don’t kick or use their utility
C.) Don’t even know core boss mechanics
D.) Have +2k rating and probably are just boosted noobs
I’m by no means a pro in m+ , but around +15-16 keys you should know the base tactics and be able to play your class
It’s frustrating when your success is hindered by one single person on something where you put 30-40 minutes effort.
(Example, almost 2k Rating prot warrior didn’t even press once ignore pain in a +15 key)
You should still be able to report under the current options. Cyber Bullying is a bit vague as an option. If someone is bullying you, for example contacting you on multiple characters after you block them, sending you nasty messages then you may get to a point you need to ticket a GM.
If people do not like dealing with angry feedback when things go wrong it’s best not to play with strangers. Some don’t even say a word toi others and simply leave but it all boils down to the same thing. They aren’t happy with how things are going and are off to find a better opportunity.
If you make mistakes in a group you are probably going to be told, politely or otherwise that you are messing up. That in itself is not bullying. Having someone tell you to go kill yourself is not acceptable or swearing their head off at you is not acceptable and can be reported using the in game tools. These are just examples.
PuGs can be a horrible environment, I mostly like to play with friends or if I have to venture into a PuG I prefer to have at least one ally with me.
