The addon button doesn’t show in game or on the character selection screen.
I have tried to reinstall the game, install in another directory, nothing works.
If I run wow.exe it works.
If I use the launcher, no button.
Anyone has encountered this problem ?

This is the normal behavior, when there are no add-ons installed.
It sounds like between these 2 situations, wow is launched from a different directory.
1 . What’s the exact path to that wow.exe file you’ve manually started ?
Example: C:\games\wow\_retail_\Wow.exe
2 . Click “Show in Explorer” in the Battle net client, what path does that show ?
3 . And what’s the path to one of the add-ons you’ve installed ?
If you used a tool such as the Twitch client to install add-ons, right click one of your installed add-ons in there, then click “Browse Folder”, what path do you end up in ?
- path is “c:\games\world of warcraft_retail_\wow.exe”
2.Show in explorer is “c:\games\world of warcraft” - addons are in the interface folder and they are all there.
Is the interface folder located at
c:\games\world of warcraft\Interface, or
c:\games\world of warcraft\_retail_\Interface ?
the second one would be the correct location.
I have found the problem.
In the file properties of battlenet.exe, wowlauncher.exe and wow.exe, I checked the compatibility run as administrator.
Unchecking resolved the problem.
