so since blizzard have done such an amazing job changing their systems and literally shafting addons like weakauras my addon count has went up drastically … instead of having 1 addon and 5 functions i now have 10 addons that does 1 function.. great change

I feel you, I used to create my own UIs with WA to track my abilities and proccs and place them where I wanted to. Default UI just sucks if you are you used to your own. Now I need an add-on to simply visualize Whirlwind stacks on my warrior.

Them removing the function from their own excellent personal resource bar and making it terrible was the worst for me.
I now have to look in different places to see stuff that was all in one place before. I am holding off on using an addon though because I am lazy.
I really don’t understand the issue. So it’s a separate addon instead of a separate WA.
You update the addons instead of having to use the WA updater.

Yeah, to be honest, I am surprised how little has actually changed given the intensity of forum discussions prior to midnight.
For me, the main impact so far is that my UI looks a bit different (because addon instead of WA) and that I have to make do with a massively worse version of damage meter.
But all things considered, not much of a difference. Well except for the gutting of Feral but that is a different gripe…

You obviously dont play at a level where addons are needed. Why even comment then?

It is more like before we updated once an expansion the weakauras-addon. And now we have multiple addons for the auras we had. As example; i have an addon for a mouse ring. And one for character resources (like holy power). Before those were weak auras that never changed. Now i have to maintain multiple addons. Not the end of the world, but we ended up with more addons than before.

WAs needed updating just like Addons do. I find it hard to believe that people ran purely on WAs and no other addons.
I dont know. I have never updated any weak aura. I only updated the addon itself for every new expansion. Even the WA’s i made myself from Legion still worked.
And i wasn’t saying WA was the only addon people had. But it fixed quite a lot of small stuff. So when people say they end up with +10 extra addons now because of the removal of WA, i am not surprised.
Like before i had an WA that detected i opened the font of power at the start of a mythic dungeon. It automatically inserted my keystone from my bag if i had that dungeon. Now i need an addon for that.
Just QoL stuff. That was what WA’s was for.
I always updated my WAs, they were always changing and it meant you get less LUA errors from them.

I just ignored the “legacy”-tags of older WA’s. They just kept working anyway.
That same reckless approach can be taken with addons. You can ignore ever updating them.

Well, thats not true. With every expansion you have to update otherwise they didnt work anymore 
But it were far less addons before than now.
