I just want to throw my opinion about upcoming addon ban.
-Its totally necessary change, Its one of few thing blizzard can do in order to salvage game
-addons maked player weak over years.
Because addons anyone can have perfect go, perfect counter, perfect damage, perfect rotation, perfect situational awerness they greatly reduced human error in PvP, which also makes PvP unfun.
-We all relay on addon they fall in category use them or suffer without versus those who have.
-I remember time when WoW was younger game where there was no so much addons, I know all enemy cooldowns and ally cooldowns in my head with ±5 sec, in that time human error in game was possible and games are more fun.
-With addon ban blizzard will not be forced pull game into FPS direction in term hyper burst damage.
-I also think addon change need to come with next expansion, because this expansion mehcanic booth in PvP and PvE are created to counteract effect of addons.
I think blizzard said they will remove player ability to track your mates CD, and enemy CD completly… because those addons are reason why PvP is hyper burst and why PvE mechanic must be complex, because addons makes them trivial otherwise.
I agree with this change, it is part of skill to know in your head when enemy or your ally coud have somehting…
Game needs another pruning. For example removing double bop for hpal was a step in right direction. Personally i would consider class pruning - delete dragons and dhs.
Blizzard don’t necessarily have to build a complete stock UI with these features.
They only have to provide the APIs, and addon authors will do the rest
It’s a vicious circle. Players get addons to make it easier, Blizzard makes the fight harder, players make more addons to make it easier, Blizzard makes the fights even harder. It keeps going on and on and on.
wow ui is not designed to play arena, and with the time people started getting more and more addons/weakauras to solve problems, this is not tbc anymore, theres SO MANY cooldowns in the game, u need split second reaction alot of times to them, it would be completly unplayable if the damage profile/cooldowns stays like this but without addons, every game would be complete clown fiesta and people overlapping/dying pre cds. I’m down for a change of the addons thing but let’s see how they do so the game is not a sh1t show
Agree addon allowed anyone to have perfect burst go etc… and this is true however addons imposing big tempo on blizzard booth PvE and PvP, all hyperburst in game, all over-complex fights in PvE are product of combating addons. Because right now blizzard cannot create something without high-complexity because addons will make it trivial. But without addons blizzard can drop down that tempo, because even trivial mechanics coud kill people than and add to dificulty.
yeah but this is to some extend also because of addons, and blizzard not knowing which direction they should take
for example the Shadowlands runes, what are backed into the df talent tree now, for some of them u needed already back in shadowlands weak auras
they need to accept, that this game needs borrowed power, or in the current situation borrowed powers are the lesser evil
reduce button bloat but bring back functions like the legion artifact weapon, or something similar to the Bfa azerith gear
Hero talents what just creates another instance of weak auras and completely rng hyper dmg are bad for the game
i remember when everyone got bored of the game when we moved from wod to legion, because classes had only a few buttons in the bar which was boring and unfun because classes felt less powerful
but the artifact weapon fixed the problem, now its the exact opposite from not enough buttons, we have too much also too many different tracking auras
i hope they dont tune the game to an classic copy or slow paste legion copy with only 2 buttons but we will see
Honest question - why do we need a DR tracker at all?
Why doesnt Bliz chill with CC and mirco CC and make it about timing and good play by the player. DR tracking is still kinda forcing optimization. Should it even be a trackable thing.
Its almost like in FPS games, would a DR tracker be the equivalent to knowing you enemies bullet count so you can you counter while he’s reloading?
