I have posted this same question on the UI and Macro sub-forum but I am not sure if that was the correct place since it seems players don’t go there very often.
So, here I am giving it a try.
I am using Auctionator for a while now, however I have some questions regarding it:
1) When I scan an AH on a Realm X, will that info be available for all the characters on that realm, assuming the addon is also enabled on those characters??
2) When I scan an AH on a Realm X, if I scan a Realm Y afterwards, will the info from the X be erased or the info is stored Realm by Realm??
3) How often shall I scan a Realm AH??
I usually do it every 3 days, when I have to repost the items.
1: If I remember correctly yes, the data is stored on your computer per realm so all characters on that realm should be able to share the same data.
2: Assuming that I remember correctly with the previous question, all data is stored per realm and shouldn’t be deleted.
3: Logically it makes sense to scan the AH every time you are going to buy something cheap and sell expensive so that you get accurate prices. When you sell something it scans and choose the lowest undercut price anyway (unless that is the addon Auctioneer?).
And Auctionator is the one that scans and automatically selects the lowest undercut price in the Sell tab, or the prices generally in the Buy tab.
Full scans can be a problem in a busy AH like Silvermoon (or Draenor!) so assuming you’re not goblining, three days seems fine, especially in a quiet period like this. Though resets would of course affect herb and pot prices.
