When you’re in tank specialization and tag as a DPS, for example, the game automatically swaps you to DPS specialization.
I don’t know how this is coded but it is buggy as hell and I often find myself having to go back to the previous specialization I was in, then again go back to the specialization I queued as.
Is there any way to just tell the game not to do that?
I’ve tried it, it doesn’t fix anything. The bugs tend to be more visual, like my one-handed weapon remaining in the back when the game forces me into a two-handed weapon spec, or the shoulderpads that I use on X spec sticking around when I get forced into a spec where I hid the shoulderpads.
Or the numbers on balance druid spells not disappearing when I tag as a healer. And I suspect, without proof, that it messes with certain macros.
Why does spec swapping still takes so long is my question, auto spec swapping wouldn’t be necessary otherwise. They could half the channel time and give us a fancy animation but we’re still getting generic tinkering animation with low res lightnings.
I’ve heard it was asked by quite a few people who somehow forgot to swap spec before starting the dungeon. That’s all well and good but an option to opt out of it would be nice
