Addons are not working

I have all addons in new folder but says out of date.

I don’t want to sound facetious, but have you updated them since the patch?

The directory they are in has changed, so you need to be sure you’re updating them in the right place.

That’s: /World of Warcraft/_retail_/Interface/AddOns/

Note, some plugins may not be up-to-date, I use a few that aren’t maintained and are out of date, but still work fine. So I use the option to load out of date addons at all times. Not generally advisable unless you pay close attention to any issues that arise though.

thanks for help. they are in correct location . i delete re download. still same. maybe there is a problem with patch. can everyone use all of their addons without problem? only weak auras work on my list.

I’m having the same problem. The addons are being installed in the /World of Warcraft/retail/Interface/AddOns/ but are not being detected in game. Any ideas what might be causing this?

this helped, i did not read it well first time. I activated load out of date addons. and it worked. normally it was causing huge lags, fps drops, but now is fine. as far as i learned wow patch caused all addons seem out of date even they are up to date

The way WoW identifies whether an addon is out of date is by reading the .toc file it includes, which has information about the addon (name, author, version, interface version, etc.). If the addon maker updates the addon but doesn’t update the .toc file correctly, then the game will think the addon is out of date cause the addon itself is saying “I’m for a previous version of the game”. That might be the issue there.

Thanks for the responses. From speaking to guild mates and others, it doesn’t seem like many people are having this issue so I’m not convinced this is what is going on. I have also checked to load out of date addons for now and it seems to be working OK. Any other ideas as to what to try?

If you are getting the “addons are out of date” message and activating the load out of date addons solves the problem. Then it is definitely the case that some/all of the addons the game is loading are out of date.

Now if you say you’ve upgraded them in the proper place then we are left with the following possibilities:

a) some of the plugins have yet to be updated to an in-date version
b) it is loading the addons from somewhere other than where you are updating them

How are you updating them? If with Twitch, have you told Twitch to rescan for games so it knows the directory has changed?

There was an error after the 8.1 patch game was still 80000 and not 80100 so many addon still showed out of date this was hotfixed so if you still have problems the addons toc file need to be updated.
