Addons button missing after reinstall

So I had to reinstall the game recently after experiencing a different issue with wow and i discovered after the reinstall there was no addons button despite them working perfectly beforehand, all the addons are in the same place as before where they used to work and yet there is a lack of the addons button. Would appreciate an explanation on how to fix this.

Hey,

If you are not seeing the Addons button, that would typically mean that you have no add-ons installed, or that they are not in the correct location.

Classic - …\World of Warcraft_classic_\Interface\AddOns
Retail - …\World of Warcraft_retail_\Interface\AddOns

Each addon would then need to be installed into its own separate folder, within that location.

They are all in the right location and they are all installed and the addons button still doesnt show up

Do the addons appear ingame?

Nope only used skada damage meter and dominos ui. Neither of this show up or can be used and my game uses the default ui.

Then you have messed up with the path somehow.

What is the full path you have installed them in. Please copy it from the address bar in the file explorer.

Edit: Reinhijks links are almost right. They should be

Classic - …\World of Warcraft\_classic_\Interface\AddOns
Retail - …\World of Warcraft\_retail_\Interface\AddOns

and remember to double check your spelling, no spaces or anything else. It does not go in \World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns which is were I think you have put them and where they USED to go

I got exactly the same problem, only in the retail version, the classic is ok. Addons are placed in the right places.

Did you EXTRACT the zip file to that folder, or place the zip file in that folder. They need to be EXTRACTED there. Putting the zip file in the addons folder will not work.

What EXACTLY did you do and where did you put the files. Include full filepaths and
directories.

I can say with 100% certainty they are either not in the right place or extracted properly.

A common mistake (that I have made a few times) is to unzip addons into a folder, then copying that folder into the path described above. This won’t work as the actual addon is then located in sub-folders.

Move the subfolders out into the path described and it should work
