Currently mining nodes can be identified from the minimap by hovering the mouse over the node. Is there any addon that would mark the nodes so they are easily identified without that extra step? It’d be really useful when looking for that particular node, like Crystallized to clear an Altered/Weeping debuff, or a Luredrop to use the Irradiated bonus on.
I know Gatherer used to do this, but I don’t think that Addon is alive anymore for Retail.
AFAIK, no. I hope I will be corrected by someone and that there is, in fact, such an addon out there.
I use GatherMate 2, it works similar to Gatherer, but is still managed and updated. It shows icons for each nodes in mining, fishing and herbalism, when it is first time gathered. Than it shows up on minimap, when it is further than the spawn radius on the minimap. Like for example when you mined a Bismuth node for the first time, there will be a bismuth ore icon for that node (even if it will change the next time it spawned). I doubt there is a gathering addon that shows what ore there is spawned without mouseover. Gathermate 2 changes icons to the “node icon” that is default for the minimap if the node gets inside the spawn radius on the minimap.
