ADDONS! Lets do something about it

This will be my first posts on the forums. After 17000+ hours of playing this game (Retail and Classic combined)

Why is most of the community settling for less? And why does Blizzard think it is acceptable for players to have to re-do their UI’s to something worse than it was before?

People have spent litterally decades perfecting their UIs and making the game playable for how they want to play it and feel comfortable with it.

Yet when they take it away, most players say you will get used to it and it will be fine? WHAT A LOSER MENTALITY. Actually settling for less and bowing to blizzards hand like we are dogs.

I SAY NO!

Having the players have to literally WORK to make their game feel comfortable again and set up remotely how they are used to, just worse, is not developing a game, it is failing. Failing the players, failing the game and failing as developers.

It’s honestly like having someone come to your house and reorganize everything, remove some things and replace with other things and having to live like that going forward. That is the horrifying reality of the direction the game is heading. Would anyone honestly accept that? HELL NO. I liked it the way i had it for YEARS, DECADES even!

Lets make blizzard know how we feel, because for the first time in 19 years (for me) and 17000 hours /played i am considering quitting. Because i don’t want to “live” in a world where a declining video game company tells me i can’t have the game the way i like it. The way it used to be and have always been.

The only thing you can do realistically is cancel your subscription and put as explanation what you wrote (but in 500 characters as this is the maximum).

You can renew next month anyway if you change your mind

The real problem is that Blizzard flew too close to the sun when they should have finished the journey years ago. Players have acclimated to addons since the dawn of WoW. Right now they’'re proving that most can’t function without them and immediately experience cognitive overload without the likes of WAs and Hekili.

The addons being removed is better for the overall health and future of the game. It’s just that they should have pulled the trigger 10 years ago.

You’ll get used to the new in no time.

This is my concern with the addon changes. Theyll oversimplify it and cater to the idiots

Too bad i won’t. I CBA to set up a UI that is remotely decent (worse than before) It takes to much time and effort with a worse result than what have been spent years to perfect. My cup runneth over as Blood Prince Valanr would say. I’m not going to abide to something worse than what we had before, let alone spend time on it.

They had to get rid of addons reaction to combat events in ultra convenient ways so you didn’t have to think.

That meant killing a couple of things.

UI addons are being updated very quickly to have things like they used to be. My UI already looks almost identical to before. Then again I wasn’t doing the very thing that Blizzard wanted to kill, so… :stuck_out_tongue:

The only thin I miss is the buff filtering, and I told Blizzard they had to fix this buff/debuff spam issue. They have not, and that’s disappointing - but not surprised. They haven’t listened to anything I said. Frost mage is completely ruined, changed beyond repair, and they failed to fix the buff/debuff situation.

I understand where you are coming from. I could personally live without the likes of DBM/bigwigs, and WAs to some degree. Those that make fights to simple or make fights that are made to hard because we have had the tools to deal with them. Those cases specificlally i can agree.

Then unsub.

It’s the only way they notice

Yeah, most classes being ruined and people having to spend hundreds of thousands of gold to re-transmog their characters + a bunch of other issus is just ridicolous in it of itself. I’m to bothered with the UI problems that i can’t partake in those problems, because to me the game is just unplayable in it’s current state. Hence me saying i’m on the brink of quitting the game alltogether. For the first time in 19 or so years.

For me it really is just about the UI. I started 8 years ago and have never played with it. Personally, I find it overly anachronistic and a lot of it is out-dated.

But I’ve just bought a PS5, so will stay logged out and wait for Elvui to catch up.

Still want to play TBC. An actual Playable version of the game.

They should seperate the subs, because i do not want to pay for Retail at this moment in time.

I think it’s interesting timing, if nothing else. Especially when some people in the industry are paid very well to find problems to address in the name of ‘accessibility’ with addons often being an existing and easy solution to many of those same problems.

But in this case the house owner is Blizzard as it’s their game - so it’s up to them what they’ll allow to us players what we can do in the game. They’re the one setting limitation in their own “House”.
Removing, reorganizing things in their house is you using addons.

No one force you to keep subbing and playing. That’s also way how to say your opinion and show Blizz that game is no longe attractive to you.

You do you, I am ok what we were having and ok what we got now.

Except they can as they are the owners of game - they set up rules. You buying game and paying sub won’t give you power to dictate what you want to have in game.

What appeals one person will disgust other one. That’s the reality.

And yet no one is forcing on us to have 300 saved outfits. People got use to things since Cata. But comparing with some other games at least we can obtain slots with gold instead of buying slots from in-game shop for real money.

You’re free to leave game at any point and show your disappointment.

So in other words people who like to play both version retail + classic would be punished by your logic - since they would be forced to play double sub.
Buy sub, uninstall retail and you’re free to roam in TBC.

You are part of the problem. As i said earlier. If you have this standpoint, you are settling for less. LOSER mentality.

Thank you for letting me leave World of Warcraft with a clear conscience. It used to be a great game, but after War Within, they completely ruined it. It’s unplayable. In arenas, you have no idea what’s going on anymore. They totally destroyed the whole game, and the developers should slap themselves. Congratulations, Blizzard.

I am representing my personal opinions on this matter. As said, I was happy with game state before, I am ok with it now.
I do not need to follow your expectations.
So I am not settling for less because it’s less only for you.

Whatever… I bought expnasion and paid sub as you did. Except - I don’t have need to rant on forum while spending money on something I don’t like.
So the only LOSER here is YOU.

How does removing “Postal” improve the health and future of the game?

Or Errorfilter? Or “RemoveTalkingHeads”?

Blizzard once again showing how clueless they are by taking a sledgehammer to crack a peanut.

Or blatantly lying.

"We’ll only remove combat based add ons. Honestly. No really…

oh god… my nose is growing…”

I am trying to save something i hold dearly. Emotional statements are bound to happen. If you can let blizzard do whatever they want no matter how it affects the game, and not be bothered by it. Now that is a problem. Yes it is their game and they can do that, but the fact is they want to make money of it. Making people quit by removing what so many players value and keeps them playing the game is just crazy. UI is not everything, but forcing people to have to re-do it for not really any good reasons is just plain crazy.
