Addressing Shaman's Struggles - (exercise caution)

During TWW alpha and beta phases, Shaman has been severely neglected.
Even basic communication has been lacking.
Various other classes received significant attention.
Shaman players feel sidelined.

Shaman is in dire need of improvements.
Underwhelming performance issues persist.
Critical mechanics remain unaddressed.
Key abilities haven’t been updated.

Despite numerous feedback submissions, nothing has changed.
Inaction on your part is disappointing.
Classes shouldn’t be put on a priority list.
Keeping the game enjoyable for all players is crucial.
Shaman deserves equal treatment and care.

Basically read the wowhead interview with Ion and Morgan:

Where Ion says: We need to look at diversity and want to make sure that classes like Shaman and Death Knight are bringing tools to the raid that make them valued members of a raid group or valued in dungeon groups. That’s not to completely close the door on a new raid buff ever coming to them, but our hope continues to be to use the other knobs that the team has at its disposal to get them to a place where they feel equally valuable without just needing a raid buff.

So basically shamans are screwed.

Yeah…I’m keeping my little poem up for now.

Well DKs are not completely useless in a raid. The AMZ and grip are really useful. Even if its not strictly a raid buff.

But shamans got none of that.

That’s where Ian is wrong… Its not shamans and DK. Its only shamans. Nobody else.

It anoys me that none of the wow media is asking about shamans. They can’t be that out of touch they just dont want to ruin the raltionship with blizz even though they are those closest ones to the devs

Heh, liquid Max was grilling Ion over his shaman response in the interview:

I am pretty sure the Shamans, Druids and Rogues still need their major overhaul in the same way they treated Hunters last week…

Same for some of the other specs like Disc that don’t seem to work well in their current state.

Community: Some specs are suffering with skill bloat.
Blizzard: Say no more!! Lets make 1 button implement 2 or even 3 abilities at the same time…

Monks having NO control when to use Expel Harm or Chi wave/burst at all? Are you freaking kidding me?! This game is tuyrning into indie phone game…

Things that has to change for Enhancement and Shaman in general is the fact that ALL specs have Primodial Wave in their spec tree instead beaing in Shaman tree. Like wth is that, Demon Hunter for example have Both of the Cvenent abilitites in their Class tree instead of spec…
Additionally, Forcefull winds needs to be gone and WF should get buffed at least 50%-80% if thats the case.
Next is Ascendance, either increase duration or lower the CD; Berserk has 3 min cd and lasts 30 seceonds… Same goes to Metapmorphosis, 3 min cd 24 sec duration. 15 secodns is not long, especially that in PvP you can get Disarmed…
Converging Storm either should also leave a mark on the floor and deal dmg per ticks or get another talent there to do that. We had that in Legion, and got removed…
Earthen Spike, where is it?

this spell should be removed not moved to the class tree.
if it was added to the class tree it would be 100% mandatory to take.
at the moment you still have the illusion of choice with a slim and fading hope that stormbringer does not need to skill the worst skill ever implemented for shamans

I wouldnt consider that grilling the devs its more of a rant. I agree with a lot of the stuff he’s saying but its very much in a safe space.

Nothing new…

Yeah I it’s new week in US and if shaman had gotten any changes this week it should have already been posted. However so far there is nothing. Looks pretty grim tbh.

there is no new beta build yet.
There hasn’t been any changes for anything, chances are that tomorrow comes a new build with probably still doesn’t notice shaman but still…

Heres a mathematical example of how much shamans have been shafted just in terms of talent trees.

Enhancement - 87 total nodes including 18 doubles
Elemental - 88 total nodes including 19 doubles
Resto - 88 total nodes including 19 doubles.

Rogue as an example.

Assa - 85 total nodes including only 5 doubles.
Outlaw - 89 total nodes including only 7 doubles.
Sub - 90 total nodes including 7 doubles.

I went through most other classes as well and its the same across the board, shamans have far more doubles across the board while having the same number of total nodes on average.
