You call Tank Brann too powerful, yet he doesn’t even have a shield and dies within seconds of the fight! Clearly, you haven’t tested him properly. I was curious to see how he would perform in his new role, so I gave it a shot but after watching him go down almost instantly, I was utterly disappointed. I immediately rolled him back to a healer and have no intention of ever using him as a tank again, especially with these new changes.
are you suggesting that brann scales with itlv you have ?
in higher dvelves he indeed died in seconds if he isnt spamm healed - something which is impossible when you try to solo it as dps .
Wow. So I know you’re getting plenty of attention on the US side - and why not, you dropped this hours before patch, in the night, whilst enthusiastically inviting feedback.
Let me preface by saying I have done a /lot/ of Delves. Over a thousand, including all 11s this season in all 3 roles. Brann is 67.6 (Where my XP stopped this week)
Something I’ve barely used is Tank Brann. For the flat reason I didn’t even consider risking it - he’s terrible as is. Objectively, demonstratably, terrible. Even compared to general behaviour in Season 1. If there is a telegraph, he WILL stand in it. If there’s multiple overlapping? Even more enticing. His spatial awareness is barely present, and survivability non-existent. If he’s going to be that unaware, he has to go back to pet levels of ignoring AoE, and even that might be barely enough.
A mine cart hitting healer Brann in Earthcrawl on a T8, one-shots him. No ifs/buts, he’s dead. A mob (of any quality, from biters to captains) giving him a bit of attention? dead.
He barely self-heals, almost never recovers, trying to keep him ticking with off-heals (if you have them) is futile, and he could almost be replaced by a backpack that spits out potions and an egg now and again.
Suffice to say, annihilating his tank role damage is… an interesting choice (As you’ve been well-informed by now.
You yourselves highlighted when making the healer changes for this expansion that healers just had too much time to DPS and that was a problem.
And now it’s a problem they’re doing what you wanted them to.
Whilst the damage change is, as I imply, a novel one… the survivability changes are insanity. And not the fun quirky Vaas kind.
If that’s the genuine aim, you’ve not just missed the target, but struck someone in a seperate venue, in another league, playing an entirely different sport.
I’m one of those casual healers enjoying healing in delves.
I also did heal in s1 delves, but that was not fun as I facetanked healing myself while dd brann did mediocre damage. It just had to be done to get some good gear as a casual.
This season it was so much fun to actually heal in delves and feeling like “practicing” for healing in group content.
But I guess as a casual player I am not allowed to have fun or, God forbid, good gear in Azeroth.
Something I would find preferable to his grabbing aggro and then running round like an idiot. All I want as a melee is for him to run to me when he has aggro; and then stand still! As a trickster rogue I have some decent cleave options that often get wasted because he refuses to do this.
I also struggle to understand how a system that knows well enough to have Brann shout “Don’t stand THERE!/You gotta move!” doesn’t then understand that Brann should not stand THERE, and that perhaps he gotta move?
The follower dungeon and story mode raid npc’s seem to handle this just fine, so why not Brann Bronzebeard?
Level 62 Bran in tank spec died in 3 Seconds. Three. While fighting 3 non-elite mobs. While I was healing it.
I lasted the same amount of time right after he died. 622 Evoker BTW. +8 ‘Excavation Site 9’
Granted, it is an outlier, as he was never close to dying at any other point of that Delve. But getting crushed in 3 sec, now that will be less than a global. Go and try healing 18 mil in a global.
So as a healer now I am required not only heal Brann, dispel him, remove enrage from enemy, control packs, interrupt enemy spells, use saves but also deal damage?
Because after the nerfs Brann will deal minimal damage.
I swear healers got the most work to do.
I have noticed that sometimes Brann has lost his specialisation and curios when I start a delve. Any chance the same had happened to yours?
Mine is 57 and doesn’t tend to die fast - although he can be whittled down slowly in multi-pack pulls in T11s. My characters at that tier are 640 though, and I’m guessing that my ilvl is carried over to buff Brann.
never ever bran was in danger when doing delves in my ilvl range
dont know this, but would make sense. Maybe scales with your gear.
as I said before, you’re doing delve outside your ilvl range
Nice, now they are going to nerf dps Brann next.
why did you even introduce the spec if you now basically make it obsolete? Why not adjust the other specs to be worthwhile? Heal Brann sucks so hard if you have to rely on him throwing potions somewhere at the right time while you die to Thug auto-attacks in 2 globals. Meanwhile as a melee tank Brann is just pure cancer because he refuses to get out of any ground effect and you can’t do anything about it.
“Brann’s new Tank specialization has simply proven to be too powerful when players hang back and just focus on healing him.”
But… this is what healers are supposed to do?
DPS players just, stand there doin DPS. Tanks are just there to hold aggro. And healers are there to heal.
Is that really something new for Blizz?
Great way to not letting healers solo a SOLO content…
And some nerf is valid, but the +60% dmg is insane…
I used tank Brann up until the boss as a MM+pet. Switched to healer Brann on boss.
Not tried any higher than 8’s. This tactic will be dead come wednesday. Back to only healer Brann it is I guess.
I am not disagreeing with that. On which one of your characters can you do 6m hps for 3-6 seconds, on one target?
I dont think I can, but I don’t need to as I don’t push content
Are ya gonna make the Tank spec not actively stand in every bad mechanic possible then as that usually takes a huge chunk of HP.
and +60% increased damage would just mean the none existing AI is just dead on mechanics.
also would be worth maybe make the healer spec do more healing for DPS players to make it more viable for none plate classes or tank pet classes.
Execute CD raised to once every 10 minutes.
I personally do not engage on forums or Bluepost, but this is where I draw the line.
We have been here before at season 1 and you guys at Blizzard openly admitted to failing at your tuning goals for Delves. It causes a ton of drama and bad reputation. Now we are here at season 2, and things are about to repeat again. Step back, take a breather, learn from the past mistakes.
All of this is coming from less than a week of season 2. There’s like TWO MONTHs of PTR testing prior to this. Blizzard could have hired proper Quality Control for their content, but continues to relentlessly whack-a-mole haymaker out random-number generated hotfixes with no data to back it up.
It has to stop. People are paying monthly subs for this game. It’s amateur-hour to toss out ginormous nerfs like these and come out as “We will make offsetting balance changes if needed”, I quote.
Just let season 2 run along, collect more data, and come out slowly with 5-10% nerfs, or ADJUSTMENTS, as nerfs are now apparantly called here.
Do not go through with these 12 March changes. Just stay cool and watch the season progress a while. No one will get hurt if healers can do Delves a little easier.
Safe to assume Blizzard really hates the game and the players.
Delete Brann i stand where you want to click beard, and re-tune delves to be companion-less.
