It is not really an “impulse”, I just don’t enjoy Delves and you guys destroyed the whole M+ system making pointless to do anything that is not +9 and above
Full disclosure, I don’t support this change, I raid log and do the absolute minimum to stay relevant.
However, I think the purpose of this change was simply because Zekvir on ? could be downed in 2 minutes flat, typically a delve is a 10 minute experience, they wanted the vault slot to represent the time commitment, similar to a 5 key, or a couple heroic bosses.
It’s just an content equality change, maybe if it was equivalent to champion track, then it’d be left alone.
If they made it require Zekvir ?? I’d rather do that 8 times, I can do it pretty quickly too.
Imagine complaining about your time investment in an MMO.
What are you gonna do with that extra time? AFK in Dornogal and complain more on the forums?
I think its fair tbh. If everyone just farms zekvir then you may aswell delete all the other delves.

True.
If they can defeat Zekvir, then they can easily run T8 Delves, no problem.
If players truly enjoy Delves, no one will complain about this change.
Let’s see.
I am not representative of the gameplay population (but still part of it) and I like that change. Besides, I’ve only done Zekvir once for the quest, and I’m not reentering there before I reach 615+ ilvl.
I can’t say the same about the 2nd change since it “punishes” casual-er players even more than what the game already does.
…Judging by the replies, I am in the minority.
Well I love delves and had no idea Zekvir contributed to the Vault
I’m sure some will complain. People generally like to do things quickly. And Zekvir farming could be quick if you’re good enough.
I just learnt that yesterday lol. That it counts as a +8. But that is not important for me, I’ll just do the regular 4 delves per week then and try for 8 if I have the time.
What is important is why it does not drop Runed crests beyond the first time you kill it. Like, why ? It’s just 2 (TWO) crests. The current season cap is like 360 or something. Even if you farmed him, it would take AGES to reach that cap. And then, well, there is a cap anyway.
We farm bountiful delves for the gear, vault slots and a chance for a map. Maybe make Zekvir give 5 crests each time so there is a reason to kill him beyond the first time. Cuz now nobody is gonna bother with him anymore after the first kill, he will rot in his dungeon forever.
With the weekly reset in each region, we’re making the following adjustments to the Great Vault’s unlocks from Delves:
- Zekvir’s Lair no longer rewards Great Vault credit.
- Addressed an issue with Special Assignment World Quests rewarding additional Great Vault credit.
With the first change, we’re ending the impulse to fill up the Great Vault bottom row via only quick Zekvir runs, and the second change was a bug and was not intended.
oh no, fun was detected
Terrible change. You only give 4 keys per week, so now we’re forced into slow-a** content that gives absolutely no rewards to fill slots. At least this was a quicker way to fill.
With m+ a s**tshow for pugging and now delves taking a lifetime to fill the track, f-all left for those without the time/desire for large group content.
Massive L. Hope you backtrack like the Holy pala nerfs!
Imagine if Blizz accidentally added an easy way of filling M+ vault slots at 616 that low-skilled players could run in 5 mins. The forums dwellers would lose their minds.

You can do Worldsoul encounters for additional keys. Renown vendors give also a few out on certain milestones.
There are enough options to get 8x T8 bountiful runs going.
But that would require time and effort, no? Just like they designed it to.
I already wasn’t doing that. It’s too stale for me killing Zekvir over and over. Plus if Brann doesn’t attack the egg my tank damage isn’t always enough.
Oh Bli$$ard , by the way did i mentioned ,that i prefer ebola than playing M+ …
But that would require time and effort, no? Just like they designed it to.
You fail to see the bigger picture here. People that did Zekvir x 8 before are either M+ or raiders, just ot fill their GV slots. Then they can actually go back to preparing for and doing their thing - both of which require a lot of time.
Delvers like me are casual players and most of us either don’t play a lot or have multiple characters. Doing 8 delves per character is both boring and time consuming. It feels like a job. Most do x4 max because they want to do other stuff in game after they do their “homework” with world quests (to get keys) and delves. I thought it would be a nice way to reach the last vault slot for me after I’ve done my 4 T8 delves with keys. But apparently I need to farm delves 24/7 if I want that now. So guess what - I won’t, 4 is enough, even 2 if I have less free time that week. This will make people play the game LESS, not more.
It’s like that quote from South Park episode - what are we gonna do now (that we wasted our time with things that are not fun) ? Oh yea… actually play the game the way we want to…
This change is not good for either group (casuals and the others). It also makes Zekvir useless content. There is now literally no reason to kill him after the first time for the quest. One of the main features of the solo gameplay option is now dead content. Great.
Blizzard let’s be honest here. I know you want us players to interact with your new expansion feature. But this is not the way to do it.
The enjoyment of players is more important than your participation numbers.
I’m fine with doing some Delves on my main, but I’m simply not going to do them on alts. This change is going to make it more tedious to maintain alts and will as a result make me play the game less. Which is sad.
The idea behind Delves is great. But if you want more people to interact with them on a daily basis you need to make them more interesting and rewarding.
Similar to Torghast you still spend too much time running from A to B without a mount. And the mobs give me the same feeling as clearing raid trash.
So please, make the content more interesting and rewarding instead of limiting our options. Let us enjoy the game the way we like. I understand creative proudness but it should never lessen the experience of the players.
- Zekvir’s Lair no longer rewards Great Vault credit.
Insert donald duck meme: oh god they are takin from us vault prizes for zekvir lair! But anyway i never beat zekvir once. good night.

Let’s see.
Jesus how silly must you be?
Delves are not bad but Zekvir was a good way to get some vault extra on alts, to slowly get then up without much time commitment.
It also gave you nothing while doing it and for having a decent kill speed you basically had to be decently gear anyway.
Literally fixing a non issue.
I think it would be way better to just lock Zekvir’s Lair behind a certain ilvl (or at least the great vault rewards). For example it would only count for vault if you are ilvl 603+
This way undergeared people would have to do the actual delves as intended and it would be a quality of life thing for anyone who already outgeared +8 delves.
Currently there is basically no gain for outgeared people even in bountiful delves so its just a long slog to go through before you can do any other benefitial content like m+. You could maybe argue that doing m+10 itself doesnt really give you any good gear either once you outgrow it but you at least get a lot of crests that you can spend on the weekly vault gear you get. This is basically non existent with delves.

Making Zekvir a Piñata to bust through the Vault challenges is not great content either. It skipped the whole Delve system, and definitely isn’t the sort of gameplay loop Blizzard want to foster/reward.
Likely this went under their radar until now because lots of streamers started talking about it.
