Adjustments to Dungeon Creature Behavior and Group XP

I found a RMT slave.

My ads show me L’Oreal shampoo or whatever is in discount on Amazon :man_shrugging: :man_shrugging: :man_shrugging:.

I already am there after all the changes announced and I am loving the original wotlk experience

You can still instance farm. It just takes a bit longer.

Bad change. You are curing a symptom and not the disease.

You can argue that AoE grinding, boosting and the way that the game is played in some sense is not as intended in 2007. I can agree with that.

But you also need to realize that this is not 2007, it’s 2022. In 2007 there also wasn’t a boost, you couldn’t buy a ‘‘X/Y Portal Pass’’ with real money and have in game benefits and yet here we are.

The root of the issue is the RMT plaguing TBC Classic. People feel like they can buy gold and be untouched by GMs. A rule is valid only if it’s enforced.

This boosting issue could EASILY be solved by just reducing the EXP gained when there is a certain level disparity between members, period. There was no need to change in-game mechanics and affect the whole playerbase.

Punish gold buying and Boosting + GDKPs will be massively reduced. I appreciate the attempt, but this wasn’t it.

Somewhere in my mind I recall Wow used to have this feature…
I am unsure how much lvl difference it was but I think it was around 6-8 lvls?

Make it 5 lvl diff and boosting will instantly stop.
Why 5 lvls? Slave Pens.

There is retail for people like you. Max level in a day or two just doing quests.

That’s prety toxic.

Maybe the person loves too play the “classic” engame, or general playstyle (ain’t nothing classic about it lmao) but preffer too not dunk weeks off his/her time into lvling?

There is lot’s off things to like (and dislike) about “classic” except the lvl progress…

Such a shortsighted reply…

Too bad the game is not made in that way then. The person want a fps like game, jump in play a few hours and log out. No need to build your character.

It is not toxic, what is toxic is wanting to destroy a game because you dont have time or interest to play it.

Please revert this change due to problems caused for legitimate play.

You obviously dont have a Job or Real life so id suggest you start to touch some grass for a change. i like “Wannabe Classic” and have played wow since it came out in europe 2005, but retail is to much Elitist like you expecting people to take time off work and daily stuff to play for months leveling up wich i have done 100s of times, allready and comming to “Classic” to spend months to gain levels and not get to play endgame. i dont mind Paying blizzard 200 euro per character to get all classes to max lvl so i can enjoy doing endgame whenever i got time to do so

I know how to manage my time. If i dont have the time to play a specific game i dont play it. i dont cry on their forums to turn their games in to FPS copies.

Honestly, What I’ve experienced lately is that all the elitists are in the “Retail Classic” section these days…
Ever since that “thing” came out I’ve had a blast on Retail and met some real friendly players, on the same time I’ve been disgusted with alot of “Retail Classic” players and what they like to call “Communities” aka GDKP RMT Supporters.

This is just my personal experience ofcourse.

Mate, if You’ve done the leveling process 100s of times, and don’t have time for endgame then I think the problem is not the game, but Your inability to stick with one of the 100s of Your characters.

Leveling up to 70 is a matter of a few weeks, then You can enjoy endgame. Once You have your main, you are free to decide, whether You do have time for another character, or not. If you don’t have time for leveling which, again, takes only a few weeks (shorter with main who can supply crafted items and gold for mounts), then you probably will not have time to play him at endgame.

First of all, I want to point out before anyone jumps in with the “another mage just moaning because he cant boost anymore” comment that I do not boost for gold, nor did I ever spam or considered spamming offering boosting services for any sort of gold profit - I agree that this spam is annoying in trade - I am only looking at this from a genuine player prespective.

While questing, farming etc. I pull large groups of mobs, aoe them down and usually quest quite quickly - this has been my style of play for years, constantly pushing myself and improving where I can - those skills often come in very handy in sticky situations inside dungeons - let me give you a typical scenerio:

In the past, lets say Shattered Halls Heroic or Shadowlabs Heroic and the tank dies for whatever reason… it happens as we all know, I have kited, kept slowed and aoe’d the mobs down preventing a wipe many times - no exploits, no evade spots, just me playing the class as intended and not farming solo instances, boosting for profit or selling gold… a genuine player - so for me, these changes will disrupt my normal play and enjoyment of the game.

So do I farm gold, yes, obviously I do, I often farm the bog lords up in Zangamarsh etc, sell the life on the auction house, go out farming ore and sell the gear/bars etc etc. So whats stopping these gold farmers doing exactly the same and still selling the gold? - do we then cap the number of times mobs in the open world can be snared, slowed etc.? - seriously, its wrong to make the genuine players suffer because of those gold sellers breaking the rules.

For clarity, I have no issue with the Evade Spot / Pathing changes that are implemented but the cap on slowing mobs in an instance is just plain stupid.

I’m sorry but, this for me is a typical “genuine players suffer over gold farmers” again - I also feel you (“Blizzard”) are going down that same dark path of bad decision making.

“we will implement a reduction to group XP earned when there is large disparity between player levels in the same group”

I really dont agree with this change either - I personally get a lot of fun and satisfaction from boosting friends and guild mates in the starting dungeons such as deadmines or wailing caverns and helping start off their personal journey in wow, this is something ive done for years, not for personal gain, no advertising whatsoever, but only offering help to my friends and guild mates on their alts.

Suggestion:
In addition to the level check, why not implement a further check such as all players in the party must be in the same guild and for a certain period of time, or on realid friend for a certain length of time, this would prevent gold farmers inviting you to guild/realid, boosting and then kicking you after the run - this would then not cause issue to those genuine people wanting to help out their friends in instances.

Please remove the slowing/snaring cap, its not needed, seriously - consider something like above instead and if those are not met above when theres a considerable difference in levels then stop xp gains - problem solved.

We are heading in the direction of some retail changes, i.e. no xp to friends if I boost them on retail.

For me, history is starting to repeat itself sadly.

This is not me whining, I am just offering my personal opinion.

kekw xD i guess the gold boost statement is standart before stating mage opinions to swipe out the trolls.

Just had small breakdown in hotfix topic where this “smort” improvement was confirmed. The value of it is subzero due to 0 ducks given. And that will be probably my first and last response to accumulated nonsense.

upd. fun fact, link to post leads to 404 tho post is still there.

Weird issue, but if you right click and open in new tab it actually works for anyone else having trouble following the link.

Completely out of touch response by Blizzard. GDKP and boost spam is still happening in chat channels everywhere. Yet because mages can’t snare mobs any more the problem is solved… What about EVERY other class with ANY AoE abilities… Consecrate still not on 10mob cap?

You know you could have just nerfed the exp (that fix is better than any other option tbh).

Did the British Tory Party come up with this absolute bulls*** fix? Probably.

No it was the “insert here political bull… party that you vote for”.
How bout you keep the real world politics out of a game?

Boosters will make a guild, inv the boosters and then kick them. Repeat.

What about the gold that players pay in GDKP. The sell and the consume should be targeted.
