Uldum really needs an RP-pvp campaign centered around purging the area from any life like the Titans intended

Pillar Men theme starts playing when looking at those images
A cursory glance at the local hub does raise questions. I fear the answers may leave me speechless.
Going off this, can someone explain to me why the Void gave ren’dorei a British accent?
because all villains have British accents.
Because Rule Britannia, Britannia Rules the Void, we will never never never shall be Droids
Time to get a swivel chair and a cat then.
It’s more of a bitter angle than stiff upper lip. That’s how it’s painted in the book at least.
Do it! Its amazing (as someone with a swivel chair and a cat who will occasionally sit on me while I’m in it)
Though, the cat has to be a Persian with the smushed in face.
Title of that book, please?
imagine a voidlord sounding like a stereotypical british fop now…
Before the Storm.
Builds up the start of this expansion, it’s only a brief snippet really.
So you’re saying it’s Wonder Woman. The unseen god, the hand directing the forces of darkness, was a British guy with a mustache all along.
Cute try, not rising to it.
Nah, not at all, Their culture in terms of architecture is -blatantly- more redolent of Persian influences, with the drapes, Minarets and Hookah’s, the Lounging cushions, the sheer design ethos of the place, so no, I don’t for a moment think that the Blood Elves are ‘The British’, You would have to be fairly silly to imagine that someone would do so, when we have already been stereotyped by the Gilneans and Kul Tirans. I was referring to the -Attitude- which has become a phrase in its own right, I mean I could have written “Stiff upper Lip” in a different language if that helped, just that I am English so that is the phrase I used. Its an -attitude-, I mean if I use the term Sang Froid does that make it better? It means exactly the same thing, I could have used that word, doesn’t mean that I think Blood Elves are French. (Although they do use a few French words for their mobs)
So whether I said, Stiff upper Lip, Sang froid, Gelassenheit, Khladnokroviye, or whatever, it all means the same thing. A Determination under extremis to persevere and carry on.
They’re -Survivors-, by definition they have survived a national catastrophe the likes of which we simply can’t fathom, those who remain are bound to be less free and easy than before the vast devastation, it would be crazy to think otherwise.
Afraid not. You’d need to look further afield for the influences we use. Its easy to describe it as a WWI fighter squadron, but that’s just because people have a conception of that. The Actual cultural sources, blimey, you’re looking at French, German, or rather Prussian, a smattering of Russian, a very very small slice of Japanese, a couple of elements of Norse, and then a hefty dollop of Persia. Just because I type in English, and use English idioms, do not confuse that with “I think the Blood Elves are the British” They’re entirely not.
Yeah, does sum it up quite well though. I mean heck, if I’d been through what they would have, I’d be Bitter. also wondering why the local paper shop was closed, and the supermarket, why there were no police around, and then remember, Oh Yeah, 9/10ths of us =Dead.
I like that aspect of the Blood Elves, they’re not -human- and people need to stop thinking of them that way. Every Life is sacred. Every life is one more stone in the wall they can build against extinction, nobody is a waste, everyone should be proud and do their bit, whatever that is. It is kind of implied that elves are not incredibly fecund, which actually makes sense for a long lived race, I mean we see this in nature in our world, a Cat gives birth to a litter of 6, business as usual, a Woman gives birth to Sextuplets, that’s National News. So whilst this whole “nine of ten of us are dead” thing, would be horrific and horrible for -any- society, for a one where reproduction is at a slower rate is even more horrific, I mean how do you fight wars, you’d have to offset the number of those killed in war, with the slow, too slow, repopulation of your people.
Everything since the Fall has just been Lor’themar Theron having to calculate the dread mathematics of loss.
Quel’thalas needed some time to have a ‘duvet day’ and just phone up the Warchief and go “Yeah, sorry, we’re still really ill, I need a day off work”
“No, you have to come in today or you lose your job”
“Muthaf- Alright, I’ll be at work”
And that’s your -friends-…
So yeah, them having a very bitter, stiff upper lip kind of “We endure” kind of mindset is to me what the Blood Elves are about.
“We have been tested, but not bested, no blade is known true, till it has felt battle’s clash, nor any shield till it has been so clashed against, Our measure is known, and weighed, in Blood.”
Death to all Pointy Eared Humans!
I’m no expert (I am actually) but by having written this reply and posted it, you clearly are ‘rising’ to his ‘try’.
A for effort, F for result.
What the Scourge could not do, the Goldshirians will finish…
Yeah I bet your ic bed is a battleground of used sheets, being unable to keep it outside of the game
