Munches on a slice of Meredil Feta,

Munches on a slice of Meredil Feta,

Gross. Arthas should’ve finished the job.
You mean you tried to make it wholesome and failed.
Let the people feast on the blood of the arena.
Well listen here you green pigmented botched Native.
First you insult the cheese. I’ll bite and I’ll take that.
Then ye insult the race. Which fair enough is good enough.
But pledgin on MASS GENOCIDE AINT THE BEST CHOICE ON THE MIND!

Eh, it’s just elves, who cares.
Genocide on all elfkind is the only genocide I’ll go along with.
It is easy to point fingers of blame on the internet, I won’t defend others here. I have been on the server 6 years and seen the same people do the same bully boy behaviour. Get into a group and share screenshots and sit in Voicecalls and cause endless amounts of rumours and such that then get whispered round the server.
In truth AD is where most come to escape their humdrum mundane lives of nothing, the worst of them are those who sit 24/7 all hours in large Voice chats taking no real thought into their characters IC decisions so long at their little Voice group find what they do funny, often at the expense of other Roleplayers.
Others are those who screenshot everything, just on the chance they can oneday frame or manipulate others.
Yet in amongst the overwhelming sea of misery, there are still people out there that RP purely for the story driven progression of their character.
You’d be surprised how easy it is to put cliques and bullies back to their place. All it takes is to tell them: go f@ck yourself. And then you just go back to doing your thing. Makes you also feel good.
What’s that supposed to mean? Huh? ANSWER ME! NOW! grabs and shakes violently, a lot
That’s sad but true - there are people like that. But then again, there always will people like that on AD. All you can do is avoid them or stop caring about their OOC politics because after all, it’s just a game! Enjoy yourself and roleplay with others that make it enjoyable for you. That’s a good point you made, but I never understood the concept of politics or such on AD. I suppose the fix for it is just having people be nicer to one another.
Gif version of ‘no u’.
Weird, I remember Brigante RPing with Shonn not too long ago, in Pandaria.
I think it was some time after the Love Festival, or after the Serpent Racing.
Also really weird how Shonn etc aren’t yet banned or anything, so I guess nothing will ever come out of it.
I bet when Shonn and Brigante embraced after their talk, they quietly whispered in eachother’s ear… “Hail Hydra”.
Going by the whole green and gold perpetual scandal machine, I believe that one fault in Alliance RP is the culture that enables and encourages people to play nobility and all excesses thereof, imaginary history or not.
We’d have a healthier community if everyone recognised noble RP as too much power and responsibility for the average RPer and left the lofty ranks to NPC’s.
Just a bit weird to roleplay with someone if you disagree with them so strongly.
Sssshhhh, little Elf. Ssshhh… low Hail Hydraaa…
I’ll post what I posted in the other thread here as well.
In my mind, there are quite a few problems with Alliance role-play and the way it is now. Most people lately seem to focus way too much on the OOC rather than the IC. In it’s current climate, it’s all about popularity. Who can be the most popular Lord or Lady, who has the most influence, who has the most power etc.
As someone who spends the mass majority of their time hanging around Stormwind, I’ve noticed a large increase of House guilds, nobility, Lords and Ladies springing up out of no where. It’s evident that it’s a popularity contest with OOC goals, agendas and the focus isn’t so much on the RP, but on the OOC aspect. This brews drama, lies and slander spread for gain, and it becomes a huge mess.
Then you’ve got those who are unable to engage in RP themselves, and so they stand in Cathedral square or at Lion’s rest like statues, with the typical “whisper me if alt-tabbed” because they cannot be bothered to get that RP for themselves, they’d rather it came to them instead, giving off a lazy and unapproachable vibe. I’ve also noticed now, there is an extreme lack of back-and-forth when it comes to conversations and character interactions, at least that I’ve noticed when interacting with people. Everyone seems to talk about themselves, listing all of their noble deeds, their heroics and their many titles, it’s all bragging and boasting but they very rarely give out hooks for you to grab onto. So you end up just standing and listening to them go on and on about themselves, when they aren’t at all interested in what you’ve got to say, if it’s not to do with themselves they aren’t interested. There just isn’t any give and take, making RP very self-centred, dull and tiresome.
The quality of Guilds in my opinion have decreased because drama consumes them, and nearly all of them are about boosting the GM’s ego rather than making it a fun environment for everyone. Then of course, you’ve got the racial issue where if you’re not a Human, you’re going to struggle tremendously in getting roleplay that isn’t from your own race, because you don’t fit in with the ‘fantasy’ that is Human RP, and only Human RP.
So yeah, that’s just my thoughts about Alliance RP at the moment, unsure if anyone else shares my views but it’s quite difficult to RP on Alliance for me at least.
It is unfortunately very difficult to get justice for these kinds of things. Trying to appeal to an American corporation to take notice of an Italian predator based on private or voice chats after they have slashed large amounts of their moderation team is very difficult.
Is that… a challenge?
