[ADRP] What is wrong with Void Elf RP?

Yeah, you just can’t win in those cases. I just want a hard rule that you don’t get to complain about a woefully average, standard, lore friendly background with all its inherent “edge” if you yourself hypocritically play a character with the distressingly common “my race got genocided, now I hate race X” backstory.

Which they themselves are to blame.

So?
(in ten characters)

No sympathy for 'em.

Nobody’s asking for sympathy, certainly not them. It’s strange, I see a lot of Velves I avoid because I don’t want my character to just yell at then to go to Telogrus because clearly they’re nuts, but I never see ‘too normal’ ones or people who have issues with them. Is that an actual thing? It couldn’t be worse than someone with ‘unstable’ all over their TRP, right??

Well, when I see a another Void Elf madly yelling about how he will open the gates of the Void and turn all other Blood Elves into Void Elves and corrupt the Sunwell and he is frothing at the mouth, I shoot the motherf***r, that’s my policy. :+1:

My problem with Void Elves is the way they look. I can’t take them seriously with those hilarious haircuts.

Which is why this is one of the best (if not THE best) hairstyles for them.

Also I’m edgy.

I still think tentacles should be an option, like facial hair.

Some of them are more “out there” than others, that is certainly true. As for the tentacles, what can I say. They grow on you.

The forsaken sent their players to kill high elves on a whim.

I’d say the reason the blood elves-horde alliegance stands is because the forsaken introduced them to the Warchief and the elves were in desperate need of political allies while their kingdom was overrun by the dead, and the Forsaken were the sole buddies that bothered to help. It was an alliance of convenience and indeed, void elves were quick to rejoin the Allies when the opportunity manifested.

That’s about it. Why they didn’t change later on? The whole Purge of Dalaran affair has always been overrated imho, but that’s the formal reason basically. It’s very disappointing.

The Forsaken being the only people to actually help, whereas the Alliance’s cold (arguably justified due to the Draenei zone story preceding Eversong’s) also very much plays into it. Especially seeing as the Blood elves were struggling to deal with; magical addiction, wretched, berserk wildlife/treants, Amani, undead Amani, the Scourge, a lack of supplies and Drathir’s machinations and Alliance sabotage - any help would have been welcome. But you’re still proving my point that there’s much more to it than “garithos bad.”

Which the Blood Elves never actually knew about until between TBC/WotLK and Lor’themar was shocked by it. Again, like I said above I was making a point about the Garithos meme.

Remider that chronicles 3, page 150 states that the blood elves lost their good relations with the Alliance by Kael’thas’ joining Illidan and his naga. He is the one who burned their bridges, then Sylvanas made the move to bring herliving kinfolk to the Horde.

And this was done because of Garithos being a racist douchenozzle, otherwise Kael’thas probably wouldn’t have done it.

Yeah, I agree with what you said. I still think the blood elves could have joined the Alliance pre-Void Elves and during MoP (I know, I know) or during following expansions… because the relationship with the Horde was meant to be an alliance out of convenience and their soul doesn’t fully belong among the more savage races, hence belves might have an interest in joining the Alliance over the Horde: quite frankly the Alliance has helped the elves (ie. draenei) more than the Horde has ever done (ie. Garrosh, Sylvanas… but even Vol’jin)

Like Levey correctly said, while the blood elves felt vilified by the Alliance, the Alliance also shoved the blood elves away. Which makes their involvement in Eversong an even more empty gesture/insidious.

Edit: Though I doubt that’s intentional, really, seeing as I doubt they had it in mind when simplifying everything for Chronicles.

Yeah, I never understood why the alliance was there sabotaging the blood elves, when they weren’t even in the Horde at this point.

They sabotaged and spied on the Sin’dorei, then went full :shockedpikachu: when they then joined the Horde. Like, wtf did they expect?!

In terms of timeline, the Draenei starting zones happens before Eversong woods seeing as it takes place after the Exodar crashing on Azeroth. So naturally the Alliance catch wind of what Kael’thas’ Expedition were up to (Matis the Cruel + co). My thoughts are that the dwarf envoy and night elven saboteurs and spies are there to simply have a look about and see if they can put one and one together rather than actually be there to help the elves.

But eh, by this point Kael’thas’s expedition has also turned on Silvermoon while still selling the snake oil of Outland being a promised land.

Aaaah, then it def makes more sense as to why they’re there, if the Draenei stuff happens first.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I think it’s the only way it can make sense to be honest.
