Adventure Campaign Progress

This is mostly a misunderstanding or misplay from my side, but regardless, I’ll explain why I’m stuck and what my issue is.

You know those missions that say “This leads you to greater rewards” etc? Yeah, so I thought that if you did those missions, they would only increase the difficulty of that particular type of mission, I thought it was some sort of chain of mission quests that would eventually lead you to a mount, pet or a toy. Which is indeed the case. But what I didn’t notice early enough is that if you keep doing those missions, they will increase the level and the difficulty of every single mission.

Right now my highest follower is lvl 35, I get lvl 48 elite missions. I can’t complete missions anymore. Maybe I can complete the easiest mission with my best followers, but you see the issue, I’m hard stuck. Only if there was a way to know what that mission actually did or if there was a way to backtrack.

For people that are reading this: Don’t complete too many of those type of missions that increase the difficulty of the upcoming missions, it’ll become impossible to progress and you’ll get hard stuck like me.

Aye, in the same boat after getting the Bloodtusk pet… even the ‘easiest’ missions are hard.

Whoever designed the Adventure missions table did an atrocious job of it.

The adventure table is so badly done this time round.

No instructions, pointless combat log, weird levelling, and who the hell wants sacks of fish?

Shadowlands is the worst iteration of the mission table we have ever had.

On my Night Fae characters I can complete any mission with the Trapper cheese but doing so with the campaign missions means you just level up all the missions above the level of your followers. Then you can no longer level the followers as easily because even the XP missions are too high to complete with just 5 guys.

Meanwhile on my Kyrian character I can’t even get through one of the earlier parts of the campaign missions despite having the followers up to higher than my alt characters. So my guys are twice the level of most of the normal missions and I can’t progress the campaign until I level them even further.

It’s just so ill-thought out and imbalanced I wonder if any thought went into it at all.

I mean, overall, I’d rather have this mission table than any other version we’ve seen before. But if we have a mission table like this, then it indeed has to be balanced.

I don’t think it’s too imbalanced tho, it just needs some time to get polished so that we can see a better version of it. And like I said, if people don’t encounter the same issue as I did, then it should be all good, but apparently some covenant followers are much weaker compared to night fae ones for example.

The root of the problem is that new harder missions replacing old ones and when you get new followers from Torgast they lvl 1 and there s no levelers missions for them.

Also when you get new followers your troops losing levels because average level of your followers going down.

In the end you forced to purposefully fail missions just to get at least some XP for your followers which feels super bad.

Problem in the nutshell - new harder missions should not replace easier ones but rather add on top of them so we have more options to chose from.
