Adventure Mode is NOT alt friendly!

So I’ve just done the MSQ on my main DPS and now I’m leveling a healer. I don’t know why, but I had the notion of that Adventure Mode would be a copy of Threads of Fate, but with a different name.

Adventure Mode (sadly) is just a shadow of Threads of Fate. Out of all the bad that Shadowlands brought with it, Threads of Fate was one of the good things to come out of the expansion. Letting you level up alts without having to worry about the MSQ, because Threads of Fate would auto complete the Shadowlands storyline and let the player choose for themselves what side quests and bonus objectives to do or just dungeon spam to level 60. It made alt leveling way more relaxing, because you could get to level 60 knowing that the MSQ already had been completed!

Dragonflight has been advertised and praised by many, as the alt friendliest expansion ever etc. etc., but IMO the Adventure Mode is NOT alt friendly at ALL. Why do I have to complete the MSQ, when I’ve already done it on one character? In Shadowlands, I completed the MSQ ONCE out of the 6 characters I level up to 60…

On a side note, I did enjoy the MSQ, but I really don’t like repeating it on the multiple characters…

You might say:“No one is forcing you to do them!” Well hey, I’m a completionist and just knowing that the MSQ isn’t completed will drive me insane…

TL;DR: Adventure Mode sucks, Threads of Fate is good

So here are my questions: Why did they include the MSQ in Adventure Mode and not auto complete it like in Threads of Fate? Why not just auto complete them and the throw the rep rewards on the character and increasing the renown? You’ve already earned it on your main…

Theory: Blizzard have purposely done this, to keep us longer in the game to rep farm and use our precious game time = profit!

GG NO RE, alt friendly my @$$

I prefer the way dragonflight does it.

Its much nicer to be able to chose the order of zones and have world quests from the get go.

Personally i hated threads of fate.
Your choices were skip the story and enter levelling hell, or do the story with no freedom.

Dragonflight does it better.

Dragonflight is very alt friendly at max level for sure because there are no chores but I agree with you I found that shadowlands threads of fate was much better personally.

I have managed to level my 4 healers and its not taken that long but i found the adventure mode confusing lol…

Maybe i need to read up on it more, initially i thought it was the same as Shadowlands.

It is the same as shadowlands, only it doesnt complete the story.
Those quests are available if you want to do some.

There was one thing that was locked behind alts doing the story, but people complained and that got changed.

As far as i know, atm at least, there is no reason you need your alts to have done the story

But in shadowlands you had that bar that you filled and it gave you a nice chunk of XP at the end… unless I am missing something you don’t get that in DF?

I am not complaining, don’t get me wrong i 100% like that we can skip the main quests and go to dungeons/WQs but i find it confusing in DF for example where are the side quests? I don’t see them marked on the map.

Like i said i am probs doing it wrong or missing something but this is what i find confusing personally.

I prefer dragonflight highly over sl. Hated the way shadowlands forced you into a questing route or completely removed it. Now i can choose to do the quest i feel are easy and nice within the story and then fly away to do some random stuff inbetween.

Ah right yeah there are no bars to fill.
You just go off and do whatever you want to level.

Stort quests, side quests, world quests, dungeons, pvp, spam the hunt if you want.

Whatever you feel like at any given time.
Its complete free rein

Well no one, other than yourself, is forcing you to do them again on your alts.

The new Adventure Mode is fine, once we have unlocked it on our main we can level our alts however we want.

This is the very definition of a you problem.

Personally the benefits of Renown on alts beyond 10 renown (20 orefered obviously) is way to big for me to level 4 df ready chars.

you start with all 8 dungeons, that automatically makes it better than SL.

The threads of fate as a system was a better polished leveling system for alts yes absolutely
However i hated the zones so much in SL i couldn’t wait to ding 60 on my alts.

also if i recall correctly,
the Maw intro skip wasn’t added till much later into the expansion (puke)
the covenant soulbind campaign skip too.

So i’d like to think that eventually (perhaps a patch or 2 down the line) there will be updates to the leveling experience on alts in DF alongside proper renown catch up.

At the moment those quests will be your main source for renown reputation on those alts.

personally i’m a big altoholic and really enjoy playing multiple classes/specs
My army of alts is on standby at the moment waiting for my main to get 20 renown across the board (for the 200% account wide rep) then we march.

Wat, really? I remember bfa intro being skippable as soon as you done it once LOL

I am pretty sure the maw skip wasn’t there on launch
the worst intro for any expansion and i did it multiple times.

If there is no achiev like Do msq on your alt. I don’t give a f…And im happy i have option to play msq again on alt to refresh story. Some quests like murloc land was to much funny i wanna see them again.

Well, then its… your issue? Not a game one? They just made option for you to complete it again in threads of fate. I hated sl system because I had limited questing options if I choose threads. Now I can do some msq quests, side quests and dungeons while being full free and I miss nothing if I dont do that msq again. Its just choice for you. Theres nothing you loose if you dont do msq again. Its just easy exp.

I prefer the Dragonflight leveling system 1000x more than Shadowlands. Shadowlands alt leveling is the worst experiance with alt leveling in my whole Wow career.

That you feel you need to redo the main campaign is the same as me feeling I have to do it in the original order. This is not Blizzard’s fault, it’s our silly brain’s. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I would rather do the story again than those boring objectives. I remember how I was falling asleep doing those is SL.

lol yea, no structure to it really. You need to go hunting or remember where to pick up quests.

Guys, guys! The thing with alts is that they “might” become your main’s replacement at some point. Moreover, if you’re like me, playing since vanilla, lost interest 10x times or more, came back, lost it again etc. we all know this cycle. So sometimes you come back to main on a different class.
Shadowlands handled this perfectly, it didn’t just skip the main storyline, it gave you all the good stuff, including even some faction rep. You still had to do some quests etc, but at least you felt like you’re not on a char that was left behind and now has to catch up with your main by doing every step that you already went through. This is how it feels right now tho. OP’s right.
