Adventure Mode Leveling Idea

Ok, hear me out- recently I had a burnout from PvP.
I started leveling a new character.
Leveling is way too quick for you to grasp even the basics of your class and I know that nerfing leveling wont happen and I do NOT demand that it should.
Theres quite a bit of players who are happy that they should not have to go through the same quests and irritation of slow leveling and I would like them to be happy, so leveling can stay as quick as possible for this large portion of community.

However, theres an easy way to keep leveling a viable aspect of the game:
Simply put an NPC in the starting place, where you can select , lets call it “Adventure mode” but it can be name anyhow, its not really important.
So the said NPC will make your leveling way slower, npcs way stronger where you would actually need itemization to be able to deal with quests, npcs, dungeons and maybe even raids easier.
On the contrary- you will receive GREAT mounts/transmogs/titles or huge gold rewards for completing a story from start to finish.
I feel like we can stretch this to crazy lengths where people level a character to level 30 and try to make a group of people to finish the story of Illidan Stormrage in the Black Temple to get some rewards otherwise unobtainable in regular mode.
But thats stretch is not neccesary - its just a proposition.

For me, a player who played wow more than 15 years, and been through every quest for so many times, leveling keeps a dear place in my heart and it always pains me when I see how unimportant it is.
And waky waky- its an MMO, how come leveling in WoW be so unimportant?

It’s a poor experience and the real game starts at max level. It’s a waste of time in all honesty… needs a huge revamp

I also have levelled through all realms countless times, and would love some new angles. I have favourite places but they do get a bit stale, Your idea sounds interesting.

How can it be a waste of time if its optional ?

Sure, i also think they need to add a little more to the stories in the areas but as for now i think thats the quickest and most effective thing they can do to make the world alive again.
I remember back in the day seing people run around , group up for questing and all of that- this is completely out through the window now. And its sad cause this is an MMO.

everyone in such a rush now Blizz even had to replace the airships and ships with portals.

the only reason you delay end game content is because you are bad at it

Yeah becauce most classes need a degree to play “basics” properly. They really need alot of pruning to be enjoyable again. When im trying new class im constantly overwhelmed by things i need to know. The leveling itself take much less time than reading trough external guides about each ability/talent and then rotations and conditions to use them in, and god forbid, you decide you want to try different spec while mid leveling, you might aswell just delete your toon and start from scratch to get somewhat familiar with your several new abilities. And dont you dare not logging in for 3days on that toon, you will have to relearn it…again

Coulnd’t agree more. For people that enjoy levelling, there’s always classic.

I like your idea. There are a lot of collectors out there that just like get as many mounts and transmogs they can.

NOT everyone plays this game to solely spam raids dungeons or pvp. I’m not saying there’s 2 groups - 1 that does endgame and one that casually collects stuff - but there’s a lot more mount/transmog collecting going on than some people think.

A ‘mythic- leveling mode’ would be fun imo, as long as there are a few decent rewards tied to it like titles, mounts, mogs…

in the other topic people are complaining that leveling is a chore, it’s interesting you say it’s too fast. i myself think that it’s ok-ish to learn a class, i never used a paladin and now that i am leveling one i think i understood most mechanics.

on the other hands, instead of making things more difficult for everybody, they could simply extend the “threads of fate” from shadowlands to the old azeroth and make people leveling in other ways other than questing their way through.

I mean… you can slow down your own levelling by voluntarily going and stopping xp gain now and then. Done this a couple of times where I set a level cap for each zone I’m in, lock xp if I hit it, then unlock when I finish that part of the story. Sometimes it’s nice to just go the slow way and do all the things - although it is very dependant on which expansion you pick, I think. TBC levelling was an ugly, tedious experience, and Wrath wasn’t much better. Pandaria is a joy to level through, and maybe Legion.

As for stronger NPCs… well, silly as it sounds; take off your pants. Just choose a few item slots you will not be using.

Although having dedicated rewards tied to it is interesting.

Honestly I don’t think you’d find enough players who are up for this at the same time.

Although part of me would love to see the old raids and dungeons given a bit of a buff so’s to be interesting at level 70. Throw all of them into LFR - and allow people to queue for “anything I haven’t done this week” and enjoy the variety.

Hmm… The Lich King’s ‘Defile’ says “OH YES!! IT’S BEEN SOOOOOO LONG SINCE I WIPED RAIDS!!”

My idea for a simple WoW Adventure Mode is a “queue for all dungeons” feature.

I like leveling via dungeons, but I hate that I can only queue for dungeons of a specific expansion, and that many dungeons are not included at all.

This should be super easy to implement but make leveling via dungeons feel way more fun.
