Hey WoW Community,
our Guild is currently stuck at 4/10 HC and is struggling with the SKS and Lady Innerva fight. At this point we are sure we can’t proceed further without decent HPS/DPS.
I would like to ask the curved people among us for advice on how much item level is recommended, how much DPS and HPS needed for the Boss fights.
Also if 2/3/9 or 2/4/14, or anything in-between is recommended for progressing.
Of course improving on doing mechanics is the biggest advice of all things, but we already know that. Please give us constructive ideas.
Basically your last 2 sentences are the key. While having more dps will help, on Innerva is super important to do mechanics (soaking, lazers/orbs, add interuption). Any of the missed soak/interupt/messed up lazer/orb will wipe you. We had several 9/10 kills already, and some we did with 17 people, some weeks with 29 people, and still found success.
But some tips that might help on Innerva:
have 2 assigned people for anima tanks (one on each side)
hero on 40% (when she starts dropping soaks like crazy)
people don’t need to stand in the orbs when breaking them with lines. I’ve seen a lot of people just running into the orb and dying. You only need to stand nearby to get line through.
have several rangers loosely spread in arena, so you won’t miss a single soaking puddle.
focus the add that casts (can’t remember it’s name). And don’t interupt it on 0.1s into the cast, let them cast few secs each time, else you’ll go out of interupts fast.
For Sun King:
tables must be used all the time to 6 stacks each time. Most of the people by the end of the phase should have 6 stacks. This heals Sun king more than any healer could ever reach.
if someone is already channeling - do not click on the table - it will interrupt other person and will waste his channel.
you can cheese this with more healers (2-3 extra). The shorter healing phase you have - less adds will spawn, less dps you need.
during boss burn phase - have your raid running together with sun king, to help soaking, and ofc avoid his frontals.
But again, it’s all about doing mechanics and not getting hit. Your first dps/hps check will be sludgefist, everything before that - unless your dps are doing 1500dps - you are fine.
But your dps depending on the fight should be doing 3-4k dps. On innerva last raid or dps were between 3.6k - 5.2k dps. HPS was from 4.3k to 8.4k (disc).
We applied the tactics on SKS as mentioned above. We were only 3 healers and had an output of 5k HPS per person. So, another healer might be useful on this. Our transision was also mediocre.
Regarding Lady Innerva, we might have to improve in overall mechanics a lot to pull this off. The DPS reference of yours clearly indicates that we’re still under geared. Out of 9 DPS in our team only 3 people manage to surpass 3k

This was the logs for our Sun King wipes, at some point we changed strategy and took a 4th healer with us.
About SKS, are the healers healing the essence fonts and picking up the healing buff orbs? Also as mentioned people need to be channeling the pedelstals at all times (not when kaelthas is alive pfc). We’re doing that fight with 20-25 people and 4-5 healers depending on who’s available for the raid. Guardian spirit is quite helpful btw.
About lady, it’s actually sort of a dps check so have your group improve with that and also perfect the mechanics. Not much Else to it.
I posted the logs for our SKS encounter above, would be nice if you could take a look at it and see if the healers are doing the right job.
I usually cast Guardian Spirit on Kael whenever possible. Orbs were picked by our Healers with the lowest HPS.
I did a quick check (I’m not actually really good with logs lol) and compared it to our previous kill on that boss. It seems you’re lacking healing from the pedestals. We killed the boss in 5:54 with 702,4k healing from channeling those. You wiped at 4:53 (44 %) with 195k healing done with channeling. We had 5 times more casts on those. These are ofc not entirely comparable since we had a kill and you wiped, I’m on phone and it’s hard to go into more details.
Another thing: your healers really should pump up the straight healing done to kael. Just pump those heals on him, the raid doesn’t need much healing.

Our logs for you to compare. As I said I’m not actually gopd with logs and also our guild isnowhere near the best out there so our execution isn’t top notch either
On Sun-King you might want to take extra healer and pump pas hard as you can. I’ve done it multiple times with PUG’s now and the best success we had is raw healing output. Use all the buffs from the soul infusers.
Also ask 1 tank to always tank vanquisher, while the other gathers agro from the room and brings it to the vanquisher for better cleave. For next vanquisher tanks should switch roles.
Thx guys, now I can confirm which issues we have to address. More healers for SKS to avoid more add waves and the neglected pedestals need to be focused. Lady Innerva needs better DPS in our roster, since we have to pop BL way to early instead of the recommended 40%HP-left-window.
Out of curiosity, which kill order of the council do you usually recommend for guild groups?
If you have druids - you can ask them to go into resto affinity and take heart of the wild - their healing is really strong, will help to transition faster (one dps druid in whole fight can do 200-350k healing, so if You have like 3 druids, this is additional ~700k hp, and this shortens phases a lot).
For refference, this is the DPS/HPS screenshot of our 1st heroic Lady Inerva kill, which is much lower what I wrote above of our current ones (I covered people names, I am not sure if they want their logs to be public )

We usually kill:
Niklaus
Frieda
Stavros
This order makes that besides standard tactics, the only true crux of the fight will be last Stravos phase “Dancing fools”, but we found that easier than other alternatives. On Dancing fools you “only” need to:
quickly find correct dancers (which is easy part if the raid is spread)
dps focus hard correct dancers (we heroism here) and stack up on it
people who get Dark recital first does their dancing around and then stacks with the group on correct dancing fool.
You might get 2nd dancing fool phase in the very end, so jus repeat the tactic OR if boss is super low HP - just finish off the boss.
Besides this last crux, fight is rather simple, once you master dark recital, bolts interrupts and dance phase.
Just for comparison, we transitioned SKS on one minute yesterday, on the logs you linked it took you 2:20ish.
The trash mobs are a trap - designed to distract, its pedestals and boss healing, that make or break this fight. Your pally did great on the healing of him (4x any of the rest of you). Theres no reason you as a priest can duplicate that as well.
You need to be like a production line on those pedestals. You need to blow huge CD’s into Kael, GS / apotheosis / tree form you name it.
I don’t know why we do it that way but we don’t really have any issues with it. I’d however actually not recommend leaving Frieda last, it deals more damage than Starvos.
With 20 people we have 4 healers, I’m usually the one focusing on healing KT.
Are you sure about that? I believe our raid only does this between trash pulls. We’re only 7/10 at the moment, though here’s a our latest KT log: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/k6Y3aBCHtqF8vxnd/#fight=23&type=summary
Summary: fight was about 7m, 936.5k essence font with just over 3% uptime from what I can tell. I have no idea if that’s any good. So far we’ve had no issues with KT though, so whatever we do is working for us. Afaik we primarily use pedestals to push the boss to the next phase when the trash is about to die or just died.
Considering I’m only tunneling KT most of the time (and padding on cloudburst and healing rain ), I don’t exactly pay attention to what others are supposed to do
We failed to progress with Stavros as last. We just kept wiping and wiping. We then tried Frieda last and we got her in like 1 or 2 tries The overlap of Recital and the Dancing Fools is really nasty. Frieda last is much harder on the tanks, though also much easier on dps.
Essence fonts are those healable vials or whatever that spawn on the floor. The channeled pedestals near KT are logged as enviromental healing. And sure it can easily be done without anyone channeling those, just makes the fight faster when you use those
Nikolas > Stravos > Frieda is by far easiest combo for council as Frieda doesn’t have any dangerous mechanics. The only issue is with interrupting Frieda all the time but it’s not as difficult as it sounds. If you are guild please ask EVERYONE to make focus kick macro (it’s DK focus kick macro, just ask guildies to change the name Mind Freeze to their kick) and remember, you can keep this kick because it works even without focus on your current target. However if you have focus set, it will interrupt only focus target.
#showtooltip Mind Freeze
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead] Mind Freeze
Before the fight everyone should set focus to Frieda and tanks shouldn’t tank Stravos too far as some melee have short kick range.
Literally focus kick macro, makes council a very very easy kill with Frieda being last.
