Hi all
I main DK and don’t get alot of time to play WoW and really master the classes, and I’m looking to play a new alt, I’ve gone for DH or Monk for mobility
But which would be simplest to play well if I want to do some PVP?
Thanks in advance
Hi all
I main DK and don’t get alot of time to play WoW and really master the classes, and I’m looking to play a new alt, I’ve gone for DH or Monk for mobility

DH is simpler by far.
Only down side is pugs will assume you are an edgy emo kid and may not want you as much as another dps.
Hunter is an entry level character. But many would argue otherwise. Mainly hunter mains
Haha, I’ve seen some pug grps don’t want DH, is that really why?
Besides being tanks. Demon hunters don’t have many uses besides DPS and interupts… Kinda relatable
No bloodlust ability or much utility at all really. That I can come to think of.
Don’t get me wrong; I know some very good DH players at endgame… but anecdotally, they are the class where I encounter the most useless people while levelling.
On the whole I find them the most trigger-happy of dps, most likely to be rude in chat, most likely to pull on behalf of the tank, and the most likely to buttpull. Or rather, front pull, as they swoosh past where they meant to be and get you an extra pack. They never sit still, constantly jumping, running, gliding, with a strong sense of impatience emanating from them as if the group is slowing them down.
I guess a hyper mobile class with a dark theme does tend to attract a certain kind of player
Combined with fairly low group utility, I think this does make everyone just a bit suspicious. Like yes, we all know DH cleave is really good in M+, but also, is that guy actually going to target the right relic or are we playing Vy Urh Wo roulette? And did he really have to put us in combat before the healer had topped up their mana?
I’ve found monks a more mixed bag. They do suffer from some “I’m fast so keep up with me!” players, but also have some really mellow chill guys. The class theme is calmer, lighter, and appeals to different people.
Assuming theme is in any way related to why you pick the class. Sometimes it isn’t! Not everyone cares about theme, visuals, spell icons or descriptions; only about how they can be used to beat the game/other players. I’ve seen some cheerful pirate DH mogs, and some gloomy deathmonk mogs
And obviously people can like a dark and brooding character without also being a toxic chump in chat. It’s not a hard rule, I just end up having more levelling dungeon arguments with DHs than anyone else. Warriors are probably in second place. Warlocks are weirdly rather chill for their theme… I think the feet-planted and castbar play style is less appealing to the “don’t slow me down” crew.
Haha! He has a point I don’t invite DH just because they always are toxic and strange!
That’s a really interested well detailed explanation haha, and I can see how that fits in some DH.
Git gud, grandpa! Less talking, more zugzug.
To answer your original question though. And not just crap on Demon hunters here><…
As a Rogue you get to do allot of hitting and running with vanish and allot of lea way to learn how to battle each classes that way without constantly die trying. I’d reccommend Sub rogue or Assasination in that case.
Hunter too with camoflague and feign death, Really strong hits and PvP utility and traps! It takes some heavier learning though.
And of course fire mage and warlocks too.
Warlocks and their portals and runes to teleport takes some learning to do.
But fire mage is pretty straight forward once you learn how to pewpew with combustion.
And you always have 2 charges of blink and a frost Nova at your hands.
Id recommend other classes… But honestly have to confess. These above are the only ones I have ‘‘Some’’ experience in.
I do have a fire mage, not played much tho, but I just felt like I was constantly waiting on combustion the whole time, but I’m sure I wasn’t playing well.
I am thinking hunter also
Hunters rely on allot less than a fire mage do in that sense around compustion and burst…
In PvP a fire mage is just as screwed damage wise if a combustion goes wrong as it is in PvE…
I’ve only done casual bgs on my fire mage so far. And outside of combustion. I have to rely on instant fire blast and phenoix blasts to do any damage… Or scorch… No way the enemy will give you the time to full cast any fireballs or pyroblasts in arena outsiside combust><
In that sense. Hunter is a safer bet.
I’m not an pro player or anything though. Just going with the top of my head experience here.
See previous point about jolly DH mogs
Haha I did wait on the comment from a DH rofl just prove your point!
Depends on how far you want to go.
Wow isn’t exactly rocket science and you’d get surprisingly far with any spec just by mashing your head on your keyboard.
Complicated schmonklipated, you’ll figure when/who to cc or kill really fast and there’s addons to hold your hand if you’re into that sort of stuff.
If you want easy in pvp it’s best to just look at what’s op.
And again it depends on how far you want to get.
High burst and guaranteed opener tends to win in basically every fight in casual to mid rating/skill levels so if you just want to lul around in bgs and the occasional rated content I’d go with something like Sub rogue, MM hunter or Feral druid. Stealth + insane burst = win in 90% of pvp scenarios. Especially wpvp if you’re the ganking kind.
But it tends to be kind of predictable so it’s not guaranteed win against more l33t players if you’re looking at a gladiator title or such
100% this! WoW isn’t that complex (beside WFR) I did have some strange fear for disc and holy paladin until I did actually try the classes same goes to affliction warlock 🧙♂ now my favorites are this trio just try it and you will be surprised how fun and non complex all the classes are!
True story, I actually rolled my face across my keyboard and still killed someone in a bg on my DH.
Can’t say what’s simplest but IMO the shamans are quite fine. Between a few totems and wolf form you can both kite melee (Elemental / Resto) and reduce how much you’re being kited yourself (Enhancement).
You have a basic DoT and self-heals too.
Apart from that, Affliction warlocks are pretty nice too. A lot of dots, you mostly have to maintain them and run.
But I agree with the poster above that before max level, burst + a good opener win most of the time. Still, I’ve killed quite a lot of rogues that thought I was a free kill. So it’s 50/50 really. People do catch on to your tricks.
Has sap aoe stun 5 magic dmg buff … More than warrior at least
