Affixes for Mythic + tips for devs!

So as the titles says give your ideas, since with the new affixes for m+ it seems that the dev. could use some ideas.

  1. Dragon Element: Summen a Dragon boss in dung’s with different elements each week so frost one week, then fire etc.
When you kill the dragon it gives you you and mobs in dung a buff: Frost could give stun chance for you and mobs could slow you attack speed has freeze spell that stun if you dont interupt.
    Fire could give dmg buff.
    and so on,

  2. Elemental pillars : Gives the mobs where it is spawned around a buff so it makes them harder in some way. Then give Leech,Speed,Stealth etc. buff to you party.

some ideas to build on.

Here is another idea. Just delete all of them. :hugs:

I’m starting to lean towards this after seeing the stuff they’ve pulled on the PTR for season 2.

I wanted to make a thread like this just now

  • Hordes: At certain % a large amount of enemies enters the battlefield, these yield no %. Once defeated the whole group gains a random buff

NEW EXPLOSIVE: Comet: Random comet comes from the sky, damaging everyone if one get targeted by the comet. (Not great, but better than explosive)

Affix: Mechanical:
Bosses in the dungeon sometimes create Puddles of mechanical scraps. a player can pick these scraps and make a friendly Robot that helps you attack the Boss for 30 seconds. if the scraps are left alone for 1 minute, they turn into a enemy robot who attacks your team. (Using damaging abilityes on the scraps mooves them away from you).

Affix: magical: A few mobs in the dungeon have 10% more health and damage. When killed, they drop a sphere of power that increases your damage and Healing done by 2% each (it stacks). isn’t removed by death.

Affix Rework: Explosives.
Mobs leave on the ground a bomb that explodes after 10 seconds, damaging everyone within 5 yards. players can pick up a bomb and reset it’s timer. they can throw the bomb on an ally to heal them or on an enemy to damage him

Affix Madness: [insert old god] invades your mind causing you to sporadically do more damage (like void elf racial). However, if you take too much damage your willpower will be weakened and you get mind controlled after some bar on your screen reaches its maximum. The mind control lasts 3 seconds and cannot be dispelled. However, the fuller the bar is, the bigger your damage.

Entangling: it doesn’t stun you anymore but simply roots you.

Incorporeal: mob despawn once interrupted.

Afflicted: 30yd range cast.

Explosives: back to original but damage mobs upon destruction.

Also the new affixes can be better than what we have…

Maybe deleting all of them is too extreme. M+ should be set apart from normal dungeons. The better option is too stop developing affixes for the e-sports/tournaments and just focus on making the game fun for the greater community.

They can develop specific affixes for tournaments and ensure they break all addons. That will show the true skill of any one participating in the MDI.

See this recent post of WA that was used in the MDI - to me its cheating. This WA is no different to the Lords of Dread WA that was deliberately broken by Blizzard to prevent us from using it. Secretly using this during a competition in my book is cheating and really surprises me that it was not pickup by Blizzard.

Really weird that it has not being picked up on yet, at least on this forum.

I would have imagined that there would be a 300+ replies post about it by now.

I wonder though, for how long did all these players had it… probably a long time…

Didn’t follow the MDI, but to me it’s clear that it should not have been used there.

Neither did I, just stumbled on the article published by Wowheads and advertising the WA.
Just the fact that he went on Twitter and advertised it goes to show its without consequences and that Blizzard must have known about it. While most of the player base are crying foul due to the Lord of Dreads incident - Blizzard has been mum about the issue.

That, or, they should have a positive and a negative counterpart.

So when you do them properly they actually feel nice.

And no, simply not wiping because you did it right is not a reward.

At the moment it would be like saying that you’re making a bet against someone, if you lose you lose money, if you win, you win nothing, under normal circumstances you would never take such a bet, so why are people defending this stuff when it’s literally the same?

When it literally makes the dungeon less fun to play with?

Is there anyone who ever sang the praises of explosives? And how it really improved the dungeon? Do i sound a little insane if i say that? Good because it is insane, no one ever said that, no one ever said, damn i really like explosives, or grievous, or bursting or whatever.

Imagine explosive with a certain amount of health, that you need to dps down. Once it blows, the group takes the damage if the health it has left, and the mobs are hit for the damage you did.

But yeah if the affixes have to be here, make them positive and just not negative. :grinning:

Or if you deal with the explosives, you get a buff to crit or something like that.

Either way it has to do something more than just annoy the hell out of people.

i think affixes like that would make m+ fun.

Affix: Shades of the Past
Summon random boss on route of dungeon which you need to kill. Add back time it took you to kill him + % of movespeed and attack speed for rest of dungeon.
It doesnt even have to add back time if it gives you mob%. Faster and more fluid runs. ( with hickups,if you dont remember what some of the bosses do xD)
