Hello people! My question is, between dotters, which is easier, which is currently better and why? Some further opinions?
Go SP. its good, it has dmg, toolkit, its more fun. Affli lock is trash unless you are super good at it and since you have to ask, you most likely are not good at it. And even if you play it well, its underwhelming in most lobbies, unlike SP, which is very versatile.
How likely are you to want to heal in the future?
If non at all
Go Affli as that way if it doesn’t get buffed , you can respec to Demo or destro
I have both and I prefer lock. Mainly because it’s a pure DPS. Shadow priest is basically a hybrid requiring off healing, life swaps, grips etc. Lock is pure DPS with curses to lower DPS and fear as cc. You also have allot more mobility compared to a spriest, with gates and teleport. If you ever get bored of affliction you have two whole other DPS specs you try out. Ofcourse as priest you have the option to heal, so if your a masochist you can always give that a shot
Also I like pets. Even though I rarely have one out as affliction. It’s nice in PvE while questing and waiting for the queue to pop.
What do you think about the pvp Talent Oblivion? I only tested on the ptr with the puppet, got to 275k in 3 seconds.
I like warlock more than shadow, Affliction is the real dot spec for me. Right now it is hard to play in a double dps environment.
Imo Haunt build is the way to go. Soul Rot is extremely underwhelming and got nerfed havily since SL. If you resign from it and go full into Haunt talents you get 15 sec cd casted Dark Soul. Also with changes to Malefic Affliction you apply it to everyone with dots and not only your target. This can end up with an insane pressure and be closer to the old school Affliction gameplay rather than these Life Drain pseudo burst.
Regarding Oblivion - not sure about it. It’s another attempt to make Affliction a burst spec. I’m not sure about it. With some changes to Mind Trauma for Shadow I think that Shadowplay with Affli might actually be good in 10.1.5. A lot also depends on H Paladin. If it becomes a meta healer Affliction will be one of it’s caunters.
Shadow is sleeper op. It’s going to be an absolute beast with full gear.
It gets pretty nice changes in 10.1.5 that people sleep on. Now Mind Trauma will work with Mind Spike and Void Torrent. It will be even stronger.
Yeah. It’s already great but it’s fallen back into the shadows (hehe) because lock and boomie has taken the caster spotlight for so long. It’s going to dominate and have whine threads for miles soon.
Im mostly playing 2s with a shadow, so my thought is demo is better for that cause of more cc. But Affliction could be better if the be talents will be good to play.
personally I don’t use it. It’s all about that pressure not about the burst. I just don’t have shards to spare in PVP to use that without giving up on max aoe pressure.
I usually use Rapid contagion on cd, rarely use malefic rapture if it’s not a free cast and use most of my shards for soulburn and rapid contagion . Empowering my lifedrains, insta gateways and most important empowered teleport.
Shadow Priest is the strongest caster in the entire game. Affliction is the worst caster in the entire game in PvP and it’s also the 2nd most complicated before arcane mage. I think Warlocks in general seem to be very fun though, if you are willing to play other specs.
I like the dot and rot, but i also want sind Nice burst. So Oblivion is perfect for me, but if demo is still way stronger than Affliction especially in 2s double dps then i keep playing demo.
true but if you combine the two you have a lethal cocktail.
