Affliction Soul Shard Bug?

I don’t know if this is a bug or not, but why is Soul Shard generation procs sometimes nonexistent?

There are fights where I DoT a pack of mobs and get Soul Shard procs and then there are fights where I DoT a pack of mobs and get zero Sould Shard procs and just stand there.

Like the Zaqali Assault fight where you split into two groups and take out the Mystic with a bunch of adds.
There was a moment in the fight where I Vile Tainted everything, Unstable Affliction + Haunt the Mystic and Seed of Corruption spammed and for a whole 1 minute didn’t get a single Soul Shard proc o.O

We wiped and went again and this time I was generating Soul Shards more frequently.

Is this a known bug with Affliction where Soul Shards will just completely stop being generated?

It’s not a bug. Shard generation is RNG on Agony ticks, it also has reduced chance above 4 Agony’s IIRC.

Well that’s just horrible design…

It’s not so bad when you have decent levels of haste

I think affliction would benefit from having darkglare generate 1 soul shard each time it attacks.

Or at least some form of shard generation on their main cd, maybe not quite 1 each attack, that may be too strong.
