Afk in high lvl m+

Today i made a group for 10 spires of ascension i didn’t wrote anything in description . We started killing stuff , dungeon was going well we had 2 cr classes we did wipe once but we had 4 minutes 12 seconds in front of last boss , healer stopped healing , he died and started faking afk , we Cr him he didn’t accept , we stayed 5 minutes waiting for him thinking it was a real life emergency . We all 4 reported him he had a 9+ Soa and he didn’t wanted to finish the dungeon .

This behaviour should be banned . This is wind trading and intentionally ruining people’s key , not a rage quit or disconnect .
Let’s all afk in each other’s runs .
Tl;dr : This afk was not to show your rio that u didn’t complete the key in time not having the little + in front .

How did you know he was faking and that it wasn’t a real life emergency?

There are hundreds of threads discussing this and similar topics about people leaving/ruining other people keys.
Banning would make it worse.

We waited more the 5 mins he didn’t dc and i hardly believe he had a real life emergency in front of last boss when he thought we couldn’t time it . ( this not the 1st time i see this behaviour " # it’s not timed i’m leaving or afk" )

People that abuse afk and leaving should be looked at this , that’s what the Cs should look , I have over 15k dungeons done from legion to this day i know that people leave and this has been debated .

There’s a simple solution to avoid M+ leavers, and any risks: run with friends, guild, or community. If you PuG, that comes with a risk, always, it’s part of the deal. Don’t like it? Don’t do it.

Well, I did many dungeons too since legion (and even before since vanilla). And yes, I met many quitters/afkers. And I do know it is a problem. But I don’t think there should be a punishment for the following reasons:

  • There is no way to know if the leavers/afkers left for legit reason or is abusing. They could have real life emergency, or it could be that the group was toxic and harassing them (for example blaming them for wipe or for low DPS or whatever regardless of whether they deserve blame), or the group was actually bad and failing mechanics and the leavers felt there is no way the dungeon is run is going to be completed.

  • When actual toxic leavers/afkers are aware of penalties, they will find ways to avoid penalty. For example pulling 3-4 trash packs with the boss, refusing to heal or tank (they can do that without being afk for example a healer casting only DPS spells, or a druid tank attacking while not in bear form, etc). They will ruin the run and force their victims to leave and get penalised.

So can you ban a shaman for casting lightning bolt instead of chain heal? Can you ban a hunter misdirecting 3 trash packs to healer during a boss fight, their casting feign death?

My conclusion is that bans/penalties will lead to even more toxic behavior. If some players are toxic, I would personally prefer to have them leave my group than continue their toxic behavior.

Make some in game friends=problem solved.
