After 24 years

Of playing Blizzard games and 16 years of Activision games.
I have decided to back off entirely from both companies.

The recent disappointments has left such a bad taste in my mouth I just can’t stomach the idea of supporting Activision Blizzard any longer.

The endless rehashing, lack of content, microtransactions, rushed unfishied products, refund schemes and the irresponsible and ungrateful mentality toward their community and consumer market are just too absurd and absolutely atrocious.

Who would have thought, after supporting a company for over 24 years that you would feel betrayed, scammed and used. Instead of satisfied and seen as a respected loyal customer. I didn’t when I first started playing warcraft 2 as a kid, times have changed, Blizzard has changed, activision has changed. And now I the customer have changed.

I cancelled all pre-orders and subscription plans.

And replaced my massive folder of Activision Blizzard games with other and better titles.

Oh don’t get me wrong, my refund annoyances aren’t with Warcraft III refund, I knew the game was using the vanilla engine a game engine that’s 17 years old and can’t support HoTs like re-tread of the game. It was an overpriced skin-pack from the beginning and I simply refused to purchase because of it.
In fact I created a post on the regular Blizzard forum asking why I had to pay 30 euro for a game I already own in its entirely apart from the new textures and altered models. Would you like to know what their reply was?

Your account has been put on hold until may 3016.

Yes, they banned my account for asking a normal question.
I didn’t support/help anyone claiming any refund, even though I am completely convinced everyone who pre-ordered the game based on the false advertisement shown at Blizzcon and marketing material on the Battlenet platform and all activision blizzard websites, should have the right to a refund.

No my annoyance with their refund policy started with Modernwarfare.
They implemented a refund wall that gets voided when you let the game finish downloading and installing the shaders for each mode.

For those of you who didn’t know, or never played the new call of duty.

The game got released and was a total download pack far above 100gb.
So naturally you would assume when you’re finished downloading and installing the game you’re done and ready to play. Unfortunately with modernwarfare you weren’t. The game wasn’t fully installed yet, you still had to download additional shaders for a proper and fluent in-game experience. Now I could deal with waiting another hour for all the shaders to fully downloaded and isntalled.
But the installation/download could only be done with .exe running.
Meaning you had to physically run the game on your computer in order to download all the required assets for an optimal experience.

And what do you know? This will automatically void any rights to a refund set in their license agreement. For you can only claim a refund if you played the game less than 60 minutes. which I literally had, I spend over 60 minutes installing every and all shaders and I only played 2 matches of team deathmatch which never last more than 10 minutes and on average only take up to 8 minutes to be done.

That was my first bad experience with Activision Blizzard refund system.
And call it what you want, I felt scammed and I still feel like it’s a scam.
And hearing all this negativity regarding Reforged and the rushed 8.3 wow patch is just too much for me to have any faith left in this company.

So why am I posting this?
Well, I’m just here to make a point, to hopefully open up your eyes to make you realize you should stop gobbling down whatever regurgitated trash ACtivision Blizzard keeps ramming through your throats.

I know, you once felt in love with their games they made. At some point in time they were titans, the best of their kind on the market. But they no longer are, you can keep clinging on to your BFA characters withhopes of the game becoming better or for fearing having to begin all over with better other mmorpg’s out there on the current market. But trust me, it’s okay to seek out new things, times change, I know irl already changes a lot on a daily basis, it’s great to cling on to nostalgia, but not when you’re treated this poorly.

The longer you support Activision Blizzard, they will keep doing what they do now and probably even worse. Activision Blizzard has replaced EA’s spot in my opinion , and that’s impressive. It’s really impressive to make people hate you more than that they hate EA.

And that’s it.

They need tough love, after roughing us around for so long.

And buying store mounts, pre-ordering every expansion and or game they release won’t make them change their mentality.

I’m sure the majority reading this topic.
Will be midly toxic over it and will either defend AB to the death due to fandom.
But hopefully some of you can see what I’m trying to point out.

Anyways,

Enjoy your games and crappy services.

I’m off to find new adventures elsewhere.

Try these two games FFXIV or ESO. Although, the former is 9000 times better than the latter…

Well when I die I don’t want any moping around.. just a celebration of happy memories

Do you blame the farmer that milks the cow or everybody who keeps buying the product?

For most companies the bottom line is money, on an individual basis they simply don’t care about you and the customers don’t care much about them in return. Consider those 24 years a lesson, don’t expect loyalty, nowadays you can barely expect what you pay for.

And many will.

It’s not a great scenario + other recent debacles. All you can do is move on to greener pastures and enjoy your life or for others who stay; enjoy the game for what it is and hold high expectations in check if you are not prepared for dissapointment.

A large portion of the gaming industry has turned to siphoning as much profit as they can, it’s a shame honestly but as long as people continue to lap it up the incentive to provide better is a rarity.

General forum, ppl comment for different motivation and agendas

Well, like him I refunded SL. So, maybe it’s about blizzard funeral.

Well, I don’t think the thread is about that…

I don’t think he’s blaming, just stating the obvious with disappointment.

Gl with what you decide to do next!

Only thing things that made me angry recently are false advertisements, with Shadowlands first, then W3R. I hate dishonesty, if they are to survive as a company they have to regain their customers’ trust in the first place so that those people can defend them on the internet but they do such tricky shenanigans their actions turn defending them into a “mission impossible”.

Even shills struggle to defend the company’s recent actions I have no doubt.

What false advertisements are you talking about regarding Shadowlands? The game is not out yet?

The difference between Base Edition, Heroic Edition and Epic Edition.

Base edition normally shouldn’t have access to Eternal Vestments transmog according to their advertisements, transmog set should’ve been included in only Heroic and Epic editions. Some people bought Heroic only to obtain Transmog, I mean paid more because of that but 2 months later someone on the US forums snitched this.

And base edition can get the transmog set?

Yes they can pick up the quest from others mount.

Exactly, yea.

Oh I see..well..atleast you still get the mount and boost on top of it x.x

Yea, but the matter here is dishonesty and shenanigans, I personally summoned my mount for people to get the quest in Boralus, I don’t have problem with other people having it but they must not make their customers feel like retarded by such tricks. I already own Epic Edition.

Mhm seems pretty unfair indeed :stuck_out_tongue: but you got to be a questgiver for a bit!
