it’s a lot of going back and forth, killing a dozen mobs for items, then moving on to the next area and doing the same
i’m going to assume this is just to its age, but it’s really kinda dull.

Who the hell goes to Outland if you have a choice?
Go to Northrend. Start at Howling Fjord, though (the ship from Menethil Harbour will take you), avoid Boring Tundra (the ship from SW).
are you the mage from yesterday? should’ve gone for northrend!
i want to explore everything, i’m worried i’ll miss something.
Outland is as close to classic as you can get on retail.
Classic quests are one of the few things i dont miss about classic.
Go get 12 bear butts.
No thanks.
My adivice?
Play it is small bits.
A hour here, A hour there.
Before they let you choose between Outland and Northrend for 60-80, Outland questing was by far my most hated part of levelling. They are, after the Cata revamp of Azeroth, the oldest quests in the game, and you can feel it.
It doesn’t help that the majority of Outland is really ugly.
outlands is currently the oldest content ingame, i lvl all my alts in northrend for that bracket
Outlans is still way better than Cataclysmicly destroyed 1-60 zones, which were splendid before Cataclysm.
Also Cataclysm made the timeline go crazy at levels 60-80.
But everything 60-80 is one of the best experiences for me. Only Draenor and Legion can compare to them.
Go to Northrend. Always skip Outland.
Outlaw is grindy and doesn’t get even visually appealing till imo you get to zangermarsh or nagrand if i cant do those zones I don’t bother with it. Thats the only way I kept the boring plague away from it while being there.
Getting to level 68 then bailing to northrend, i’ll come back later.
Even if you choose Outland or Northrend, you can go to any of those zones as they all scale to that level bracket. That is, if yoiu wish to.
Personally i also like the Outland, and it is also nice to get to see that part of the story from time to time and the whole Outland has had some more impact after Draenor.
Peoples problem with the quests is usually such, that they just look at what are the objectives, but do not care about the actual quest text. This leads to people doing boring quests for no apparent reason or cause. I recommend everyone who is to the stories and immersion, to do these with reading all the texts at least once. If you dont want to read, there is a text to specch addon called Joey-com text to speech or something like that. Can make it easier to get the text.
Not perse. I thought this was the case all those years ago too.
TBC is the expansion I like the least.
Back at the end of TBC, maybe even the start of Wrath by the time I got to 60, going through the portal to Hellfire to be greeted by an invasion was breathtaking.
The first few quests you felt the urgency of the situation and then when i was killing imps I heard the drone of the Fel Reaver and then SPLAT I was dead.
What is it they say… the first time is always the best.
There were some memorable quests that got removed with Cataclysm.
Some bears never had arses. Curious.
That’s literally like every zone up to maybe like WoD (although the only major difference is that you instead get cool cutscenes every now and then). If you don’t enjoy the “collect X and kill X” mentality, then maybe this genre of games isn’t for you, because you can literally sum WoW into that phrase. Although the end-game content is different, that’s the basic leveling process that every MMORPG uses.
i don’t mind those kinds of quests, but just not over and over again, spice it up a bit.
You’ve been playing a rogue too long! :^)
I’m still salty about my carrot on a stick.
I’ll assume by this statement you are new.
If so, then you are doing the correct path of levelling - only do the occasional dungeon quest and stick to levelling via questing. You’ll be happier in the long run… as far as reputations are concerned and other little achievements.
