I don’t think we’ll get WOW2, Blizzard can continue milking us for more expansions.

Most people who plays this game do it for how the locations and their account collection makes them feel.
Unless a “WoW 2” would be all the content we have plus carry on everything in our accounts…it would be a disaster.
Of course, rebuild the game with modern code would be a plus, but I argue this would be the - only plus -
Soon as WoW (specially the art) stop feeling like WoW…it ends.

I assume another Saga depending on how this one goes, it’s possible they plan to move in these groups of expansions whenever they wawnt to tell a bigger story, which I’d be fine with as a good story needs it’s time

“WoW 2” is such a pointless thing to think about. Like they are going to abandon their 20 year old wildly successful still in active development game to spend 15 years and $500,000,000 developing a new game for the sake of having more modern visuals.
All this from the company who couldn’t even develop Overwatch 2? That’s right they failed to develop Overwatch 2 which wasn’t even a new game, but more of an expansion pack, and you think they have the people and expertise to develop a WoW 2?

Some people keep talking about this but I still have no idea what they mean by “WoW 2” or why would it be a good thing, and what can they do there that they can’t do in a regular new expansion.

You kept all your Overwatch skins and cosmetic stuff when they released/updated it to Overwatch 2. Same as CS:GO - CS 2.
Personally, I would be happy to see the World Soul Saga being the finale of WoW and for Blizzard to make something new.

Either they’d make it all shiny and new but not feel like wow anymore.
Or they’ll make sure it looks and feels just like wow in which case why even bother doing it.
What is WoW 2 even? People ask about it but what is it you want from it? Better graphics? They can add that to this WoW and simply make it a setting so people won’t have to get a second mortgage for a new pc.
Basically start from stratch with a new Game Engine, whether Unreal or something else.
It could be a simple swap existing game into new engine or do a Time jump to 50,000 years into the future so we have all new characters except maybe some really old gods or titans or maybe an ancient Tyrande.

True. And that task would be extremely hard to achieve. Imagine to sync millions of accounts and move everything (mounts, toys, achievements, etc) on the new game and everything must be 100% perfect otherwise it would be a disaster.
And the second reason is why Blizz needs WoW2 when there is no competition? Who will compete with WoW?
Tarisland? A cheap WoW mobile clone that today had a disaster launch and it already has a 3.0 score on google play after not even 6h after launch?
Ashes of Creation? A game that starts to look like a scam after years of development and delays and now they ask people to buy founders packs like on Chronicles of Elyria (which already is a confirmed crowdfunded scam and now people sued the dev)?
Nobody (other gaming companies) bothers to make a PC MMO because it requires too many resources to make it. With the money invested to make 1 PC mmo to compete with WoW they can make 1000 mobile games that can bring them 10x times the money invested. It cost 100 to max 300k$ to make a mobile game, while a game like WoW or even better, would cost minim half a billion or even more. GTA 6 cost is at around 2 bill$.
