Anyone thinking this is good doesnât understand the effect these changes will have. Gold goblins - ie. the people who spend a lot of their time either crafting stuff or at the AH - are the ones that are driving the economy on pretty much every server, and are the ones who make sure that thereâs actually stuff on the AH to buy for the average players.
You made a new alt and need an enchant for your heirlooms? The ones crafting them and putting them up on the AH are goblins using TSM.
Need some bags as well? A goblin made them.
You need consumables for your raid or m+? Made and sold by the goblins.
Who crafts, farms and put 1500+ BoE items from old expansions up on the AH? Not normal players, goblins selling transmogs do.
⌠and so on.
With these changes, a lot of goblins will stop selling a lot of the stuff they were keeping up on the AH.
You want BiS heirloom shoulder enchant from MoP? Well to bad - the 350g profit per enchant sold combined with how only 3-4 sells per week makes it a waste to keep it up on the AH when the posting is throttled. To make it worth it for the goblins, the price will have to be at least 2000g instead of the current 400g⌠so the normal players will either see a price hike, or not be able to find it at all on the AHâŚ
Same thing will happen to tons of other markets. Goblins selling transmogs and battle pets will select the 30-40 best sellers, and drop the other 1000+ items they were selling.
Consumable costs will go up, as goblins focus on selected high earning items - leading to less competition in each market = higher prices. With less competition, market manipulations like resetting and flipping will also become easier and more profitable.
There will also be less demand for materials, have fun trying to sell the old world mats you farmed when leveling - far less will be around to craft those mats into stuff like transmogs and heirloom enchants anymore.
TL;DR: This will not only hurt the AH players, but the average players as well. The AH will become more barren, with less stuff to buy, and the stuff that still will be on the AH will become more expensive.
The change is in essence an artificial limit on âsupplyâ in âSupply and demandâ - and that equals higher prices for the average player. So anyone liking this, enjoy spending more gold on things like flasks and enchants, not being able to buy a transmog or battle pet you were missing, and so on.
