AH is dead?

AH is dead, outside of crafting materials (TWW). I’ve got over 1000 unique transmogs, several of them very rare, hundreds of pets, several mounts etc - no one is buying these. At this point i’m losing money from the 48hr listing fees (btw, why is it that some items cost 1s to list, and others like 70g??).

Inb4 “lower your prices” yes, i’ve tried. I’m looking if the item already exists on there, and i’ll put it up for less, or if it’s not on ah, i’ll look up the price online and put it up for less than msrp.

In the last month, i’ve posted 3166 auctions, and I’ve sold about 240. Wtf?? Are people poor or what’s going on? Am I on a dead server? I thought AH was cross-faction and cross-server these days?

It’s a rare market, unlike the commodities market where goods may move very quick depending on what is needed. You only need 1 transmog after all for your whole collection.

The deposit cost depends on listing time + value of the item.

Only commodities like ores etc, stuff like gear isn’t - yet.

With the economy focused on current commodities and consumables, changes to t-mog farming and other things, the market for these things you mention is withering.

As an example of what I mean, why would I ever buy a transmog on AH when I have 13 max level or lvl 70 characters which I can use to get what I want, eventually.
There is precedent for remixes, e.g. in Panda-remix I got everything out of that expansion so I am forever out of the market for these.

Transmog is a niche activity, and many people who transmog don’t buy pieces from the AH, where they are EXTREMELY expensive. Most people have less than 100k gold.
I like transmog, and I have millions of gold, but I can count on my fingers the number of times I’ve gone to the AH to buy mogs. Last time was the Staff of the Exodar which I paid 28k gold for.

The best place I’ve found in all the servers I’ve played on, that transmogs sell on RP servers. On other normal servers, buying transmogs/mounts/pets is normally something that people will do near the end of seasons, when there isn’t anything else to do and so people sometimes want to finish off any things, they’ve not collected.

1k isn’t enough.
I post 2.2k , I get around 600k per week. Posting 3 times a week 48 hrs.
Get into crafting tmog , lvl up classic , tbc , cata professions. High , valuable sought after mogs there.
Look are sell rate on items , anything over 0.2 a day is good.

I made two gold caps on a low RP server selling mog. Sometimes being a high or very popular server is not the way to go. Too much competition , very low prices.

Item sniping , if you see a rare item selling for super cheap , don’t match your item with their prices. Just buy it out , reset market.

Lastly tmog sells , but sells slowly. I remember reading the math that a tmog item statistically sell within 100 days each. So that’s why you need more variety and more mog.

I have sold tmog over 100k , 300k , 500k. These are amazing sells but I can count on one hand how many times that happened to me over 5 years.
The cheap stuff is the money maker.

Lastly make sure those items are " unique" they don’t share an appearance with any other items.
Skull flame is a good example , it’s a 100k + shield , but you can pick up a shield with same appearance just running mana tombs hc.

except the million of gold i do the same thing.
