Doubt anyne would do this, as it’s just a huge loss compared to the AH.

A discord with a price list, only the most traded items would be on that list.
Herbs ores, enchants and so on.
That might works but as usual - people use community’s when they need it. Once task is done or no benefit from it - it’s over for them.
Like right now there is profit for doing business with community. Market goes down - it not worth to sell items on community. So just buy those low price items from the and sell them to AH.
Chance of abusing is more.
This is why I only wanted to put items that are bought every day on the list.
I guess I will farm and find some buyers for myself then and build on that.
It’s cheating when you do it.
You can just ask your kids to do it for ya whenever as well!
Let’s see how that goes.
Anyway it’s kind of interesting - we never know what will be actual result unless we implement it.
Sometimes things looks really good on paper and sometimes really bad looking ideas turn out into miracle.
I mean, I did skip after a bit of reading but why would I sell herbs for 70% value of the AH for example?
If the AH costs more im going to sell mats there, therefore the economy you create would become broken, exploited and die.
You give example of guilds paying people for farming mats, they more than likely get other rewards than just monetary so although they sell them cheaper than the AH they probably get into alt runs or free hc boosts etc etc, or just massive fanboys…
If I can’t do it completely in-game, I’m not interested. The new AH works perfectly for me: I put stuff up almost mindlessly, some of it sells, I make a profit. If anything doesn’t sell, I will either relist (if it has a chance of selling for more than the deposits I paid up until then, with reasonable profit) or vendor them.
I’m not going to make enough to buy a Brutusaur this way, but that’s not my aim either. This nets me enough gold to feel comfortable sitting on, enough to buy what I want to buy (herbs, enchants, gems, that kind of stuff) and still make a profit week to week.
I don’t need, nor want fair trading. I want effortless trading, and the current in-game AH gives me that.
As long as there are people like me, who value comfort over profit, fair trade will not work, sorry. If our stuff doesn’t sell on the AH, we’ll simply undercut until the fair trade prices are no longer reasonable, rendering that whole process useless.
Damm straight…yeah that’s kinda reality.
I wonder why AH can’t be sharded~ between all realms in game
Because it would slaughter the economoy.
Economy does not exist thanks to multiboxers
Ah yes, because multiboxers are a majority.
Considering last week there was a recipe that sold for a few k but the components only cost 1k im pretty happy
Depends on how rare the recipe/pattern is.
TBC World drop ones can sell for quite a bit.
The issue is : Why would someone waste 2/3 of their time farming herbs to sell flasks at a third of the price ? If it was between friends or within a guild sure, but that’s a lot to ask for random players who will get free stuff out of your efforts.
Of course i understand that the 1/3 of the price was just an example but my point still stands : I would be wasting my time out of pure goodwill toward strangers. I personally would get bored real fast.
A community based around work orders could work imo. You would have ppl request specific items like “WTB frozen runes X gold” or “WTB 200 flasks for X gold” and sellers would craft on the fly for guaranteed sales, i could see an actual benefit from such community. But just giving ppl free stuff out of pure goodwill ? Won’t last long.
Sorry i dont mean the recipe itself, i mean, X sold for about 4-5k. Buying the materials to make x only cost about 1k. So i basicly just net gained from nothing
This could work, but then are you saying the buyer would be setting the price?
ive had this talk on my own forum post, there needs to be caps for certain things to make AH efficient… not allowing players to undercut too much and allow the player base to make money from AH as a source. Its never been one of my strong suits and this would help alot if they implement this.
You would still negotiate it with the buyer i guess, but yeah that’s the idea. You won’t get any seller if the price is too low but i would be ready to sell at a lower price as long as i still profit from the transaction.
