In true blizzard fashion my guess is that they just forgot to turn it back on after maintenance.
No work has been done on it and Bob the janitor wanted to play the AH during his lunch but noticed it was offline so he started asking questions and they turned it back on.

it’s been like this for 3-4 days now, and they did 12 hours downtime and did nothing, embarrassing
No blue post 10 hours of downtime and still same yeah XDDDD
I think they are even more broken than before - earlier it was slow but steady. now i had to give up after 15 mins of slow listing because the AH decided to give up - kept “searching” forever and whatnot.
