just got myself a slot from an artist i’ve been following for a while
So you have art?
Telaryn pulling out whole damn book: Yes
I used to do commissions super cheap just for people who usually cannot afford. Now, I’m not some kind of god artist, nor do I spend a lot of time on it, but I understand the joy that comes from having something linked in your profile and I loved providing that.
The artists here, you may be potentially interested signing up for this initiative where you can Glaze your artwork through a web dashboard, if you’ve had difficulties getting the software working on your PC:
Not much that beats the feeling of someone having put your thoughts on canvas just for you, really! Some real Renaissance prince kind of thing - put me in your funny book already Machiavelli man
Same here! You can never have too much arts
Your addiction knows no bounds.
single handedly keeping the industry alive sometimes like a renaissance patron of the arts
Problem is the exodus of artists will only empower and raise the voices of those promoting AI generated artwork.
And then the software generated content will only have itself to feed on, and get progressively, quicker, more
I look forward to the day where it canibalises it’s own face, all while the techbros kvetch and whine about how hard done by they are.
Honestly, I kinda hope some AI models end up corrupted by learning on mainly AI pictures and creating eldritch monstrosities. As a huge fan of Lovecraftian horror, I will only win by being able to witness it.
But it won’t.
It really doesn’t matter where you post your work online once its out there it will get picked up inevitably by scraping algorithms. The only solution would be to not post it online.

The only AI art I can get behind
PSA: it’s always ok to make fun of cheapskates with AI character art
‘Cheapskate’ isn’t even the half of it. Genuine ignorance is one thing, but the people who go “Yeah, but-” are longform saying “My enjoyment and gratification is more important to me than realisation that a predatory technology may destroy the creative sphere on which said enjoyment is primarily based, and I do not care for those who have taken the time and learning to garner the skills to bring creativity to a wider audience for, primarily, joy and entertainment.”
These people deserve the same treatment as greedy studio execs, i.e. Get In The Sea.
Seeing as Horses are still around despite cars, weavers, blacksmiths etc are still around despite industrialization, I would not be very concerned about the artistic spirit of humanity going down the drain because an AI can make an art piece in a couple of seconds.
This very thread is a proof of it. Despite it’s supposed dominance and greatness, it has a great many people who oppose it.
I’m not sure if the horse-car comparison is really apt. Horses were big, because they were the chief mode of land-based transportation. Once something better came along, horses were relegated to entertainment and hobbies.
Meanwhile, art has almost always been entertainment and hobbies. If something better comes along, where will art be relegated?
Not that I think AI is better than human art, I’ve yet to see a computer-generated image that doesn’t look soulless af.
Just because it can, doesn’t mean it should or is good.
Shove ai art fans in lockers and call them smelly.
Well, at least this thread has led to me finally finding a consequentialist reason for why AI art is bad. Now I have the whole trifecta, and can easily tell any AI Art fan why it’s morally wrong, no matter their ethical persuasion.
I say AI art is fine, I don’t see what the big fuzz is about. If you ask me the people who opt for AI art were never going to go for an artist anyway.
It’s much the same as how I’ve been a professional chef/cook for 16 years, but I’m not out here complaining about frozen pizzas putting me out of a job.
The two just don’t compete with each other imo
