Alchemist trinket vs Fathoms trinket

Hello,

So, i’m still running Fathoms trinket, and i’m dying to replace it. With season 2 of BFA, a new alch trinket can be crafted (Tidal Alchemist Stone) which is ilvl385, vers stat + agility proc.

Do you guys think that Tidal is good enough to replace fathoms?
I haven’t got enough mats to craft it yet, but it could be fun to hear other DHs opinion on the trinket.

Fathoms got nerfed ages back, it’s not even in top 20 trinkets any more. The alchemists stone is (still pretty bad trink for dh)

New bests the raid one, then the usual first mates from siege, galecaller from shrine, dice from freehold.

Fathoms got nerfed ages back, it’s not even in top 20 trinkets any more.

Lol that’s a crock of sh!t, I’m still using it, it sims higher than everything I have bar a 390 Yun’lon.

The answer is to sim. DHs get a lot of out trinkets like Fathom and Kimbul ( which is the upgrade I need )

Any 385 trinket in the game (48 trinkets) are better then a 385 fathoms. If you trust bloodmallet, which I do. Absolutely no DH in any rankings (top 1000 keys/mythic raid) use fathoms. On my 400 DH it sims miles below a 385/400 dice, spy glass etc…

I ditched fathoms around 370ilevel when the trinks above pulled ahead.

Kimbuls is the best at the mo for sure.

Edit: it’s probs is higher then I said. Just realised blood mallet doesn’t show low ilevel stuff, 370s the lowest it shows now.

Uhm… A few things to note;

• Fathoms is still outperforming a vast majority of trinkets and is very evident in all the sims. Bloodmallet has stopped showing 355 trinkets for some reason. This alone is a reason not to trust using it so much.
• Second, are you sure spyglass sims miles higher? For me, a 400 Spyglass is simming around the same as a Fathoms. Granted this could be a gear thing and having certain stats.
• Lastly, it’s still being used in a lot of logs, go check out any mythic boss logs for example.

Like I said I only just barely replaced mine using a 400+410 trinket with sockets, now I’ve got a Galecaller with socket and that’s only just 300 dps above the fathoms.

I trust bloodmallet vaguely. The best way is to sim. And my 355 Fathom sims higher than, say, my 390 Yun’lon. Or my 395 PVP AGI trinket.

Second, are you sure spyglass sims miles higher? For me, a 400 Spyglass is simming around the same as a Fathoms.

I had a 400 Spyglass ( now a 410 one ) and they sim higher than every trinket I have.

I am running Spyglass/Fathom atm.
